Thanks for yet another update! Do you have any news to share regarding GDPR compliant tracking or RFC following list-subscription management? I’d love a blog post about the future of the two different editors as well.

Karl Emil NikkaΒ We are still trying to figure out the Click and open tracking without attaching the sent email. As per our research, everyone tracks the clicks or opens based on the sending email ID. If you have any implementation idea that others are doing, I would love to take a look.

List Unsubscription: Our List feature in the FluentCRM contact segment is not the same as the List Unsubscribe term in the RFC. When someone unsubscribe, that person unsubscribe from the whole. This works the same as ActiveCampaign or other SAAS services.

Please note, when you send emails, you can send from any tags or dynamic segment. The List selection is not required. So technically, FluentCRM don't know from which List to unsubscribe. So yes, the Contact list and the Unsubscribe LIST in the RFC are not the same term.

Shahjahan JewelΒ Thanks for the reply. I suggest taking another look at the way Sendy has implemented GDPR compliant tracking. We can use simple counters for contacts who don’t want to be tracked and the existing FluentCRM solution for contacts who’ve given consent to be tracked (consent collection is currently not supported).

Please consider adding the list ID as a parameter to the list-unsubscribe URI (when a list is used) along with a filter to line 299 in ExternalPages.php so we who only use lists can make the plugin follow the RFC without modifying the files.

Shahjahan JewelΒ Yes, FluentCRM's list feature is more flexible than others. So it would be logical to add the list ID only where there is a single list ID associated with the campaign.

So if there is no list (recipients were selected by tags) or multiple lists, then the existing universal unsubscribe would apply.

It should also be possible to opt a campaign out of the list unsubscribe header, for when the email is transactional not marketing.

Thank you.

Shahjahan JewelΒ (Christopher Miller)Β Agree. Please add the list ID(s) as a query argument in Mailer.php on line 59 (or pass it/them as a filter argument to fluent_crm/email_headers). In conjunction with the suggested filter in ExternalPages.php, we could make our own custom RFC compliant logic without any fundamental changes to FluentCRM or modifying its core files.Β

(It would of course be great if FluentCRM 3.0 was restructured with lists in mind, including support for list-specific double opt-in messages.)

Shahjahan JewelΒ (Christopher Miller) Please let me know if you would like me to add this filters for you.

Shahjahan JewelΒ (Christopher Miller) I take that as a β€œno” since the support team also closed my ticket without answering my question about pull requests.

Karl Emil NikkaΒ I already talked with the developers, and we are doing R&D about possible actions and filter hooks for the unsubscribe endpoint.
Please note: We are not considering list-based subscription options. The whole system is built on a global subscription, like almost all SAAS solutions.

Shahjahan JewelΒ Thanks for considering adding the necessary filters. Double opt-in for each list is necessary to avoid misuse (unless the contact is a logged in user), but we’ve already put our own workaround in place to prohibit that. All other FluentCRM customers would however benefit from it, as well as list-based double opt-in messages so the message can be customized for the list.

Shahjahan JewelΒ I didn't realize this. I have two newsletters by two parties. Related in some, not others. To have an unsubscribe from one affect the other is... far from ideal. Many other SaaS allow you to selectively unsubscribe, not globally.

Happy to hear actions & filters may help with this.

Great update Shahjahan JewelΒ , are there plans for more automation triggers and actions between the different Fluent plugins?

Excited to see those, so we can eliminate third party solutions

Natascha VantuykomΒ What else automation trigger do you need? I am open to the ideas.

Shahjahan Jewel I have a whole list for you 🀩

FluentBoards

triggers:

task completed

task overdue

user assigned to task

actions:

send webhook composed from (custom) fields. Example: create a social media post with description as body and media-attachement as image and publish on due-date

add to RSS

Create board/stage/task from template

FluentBooking

actions:

wait until booking date

FluentCRM

triggers:

custom field changed

custom date (like birthday but with custom dates: initial signup, first year customer,...)

actions:

nested conditions

add to automation funnel

FluentCommunity

triggers:

lesson dripped

actions:

add points

remove points

send public welkcome message

send private chat message

schedule post

πŸ˜€ really hope to see those in some near update

Natascha VantuykomΒ Shahjahan JewelΒ I second these being super important - you can create a user preferences form with Fluent Forms this way.

I would like to be able to put conditional blocks in my emails to let users decide the content they want in each email, but since those are managed entirely off of tags, I can only really let them edit things that aren't single-option-only one way.

To be a bit more precise, we can hack some automations using the automations tool to let users decide between "Beginner" and "Intermediate" levels, since it's one or the other, but we can't let users decide which of options 1, 2, 3, or 4 they want to receive, since they can only add options, not remove.

I tried setting it up to let them edit custom user fields via the form, but custom user fields can't trigger automations between Fluent Forms and FluentCRM, so I still have no way to provide this functionality. Kinda feels like my hands are tied for no real reason. Is there a simple custom code solution to this I'm just not seeing?

Hi Shahjahan JewelΒ thank you for the update! You guys are the best, I have a couple of requests. I hope you'll take them into consideration.

  1. Contact timeline - would be nice to have a Tab with contact history
  2. FluentBooking Tab - possibility to quickly create a booking for the contact (as for Tasks)
  3. Possibility to reorder and rename contact Tabs

Thank you for all your work!

Gabriele SalaΒ

  1. What type of timeline or activity do you want to see. By the way, we don't keep track the history of the activities?
  2. That will be a good option.
  3. Will send to the R&D

Gabri Sala

Shahjahan JewelΒ You're amazing.

So yes, like a contact activity feed: contact creation, email sent, bookings, tasks created and so on... every action that happens on a contact, display it in a feed. At least to see the last 10/20 actions that happened on a contact without having to look in all tabs

Thanks Shahjahan JewelΒ and team!

  • Searchable Shortcodes (Works well)
  • Warning in Block Editor for Unsaved Changes (it doesn't work for me, at least on Firefox and regular composer)
  • WordPress 6.8 Compatibility (I' m still on WordPress 6.7.2)

I appreciate the recent updates and the continuous improvements to the platform. However, I’m reaching out regarding a critical issue that remains unresolved.

In Australia, it’s mandatory for all displayed prices to include tax. Currently, the Abandoned Cart emails are showing product prices excluding tax, which puts us at risk of non-compliance with local regulations.

This issue was previously acknowledged, and a fix was promised in upcoming updates. Unfortunately, after the last two updates, the problem persists. Could you please provide an update on the status of this fix? It’s crucial for our operations to ensure pricing compliance.

Manoj SharmaΒ I didn't realize this was a thing. Glad I do now as we too will be affected until this is resolved.

Shahjahan JewelΒ One request I'd like to add isn't a huge one, I don't think - I would really love if you added in all the rest of the CSS and Gutenberg block options to the email builder, since it looks like you're already leveraging a set of them. There are CSS options in the editor that don't render to the actual emails, and there are some simple things like borders and border radiuses that don't work very intuitively or consistently. You could very easily position FluentCRM as a competitor to things like Beehiiv and Substack with some more of this kind of flexibility in the editor.

I'm aware I can just use raw HTML from an external email builder, but then I can't use conditional blocks or latest posts, and that's such a waste.

The other request I'd like to propose to you is that you allow for the latest posts block to show full posts!! Another way to position yourself as an alternative to these paid newsletter services, but at a way better price point!

Philip Levine

Ian HoffmanΒ I will 2nd the ability to have additional blocks in the editor - I believe I put a request post a few weeks ago. For example a horizontal line divider - right now I do it with an HTML block but it would be nice to have the other blocks available.
