Double Opt-In Help, Please
I feel like I'm missing something really obvious, but I've been working on this for days now....
If I turn off double opt-in in Fluent Forms, there is no opt-in email. If I check the box, CRM uses the Fluent Forms confirmation message instead of the one I've made in CRM. I can find no checkbox to enable the CRM confirmation message.
Please help, I'm feeling dumb and stuck! Thanks :)
Making sure I understand, you have the double opt-in Forms off and then when you check the Double Opt-in in the integration settings it sends the Fluent Forms double opt-in?
WendyΒ Perkins ShoefΒ Thanks for answering! I do not have the exact same menu you showed (I have FluentCRM pro and Fluent Forms free for now) so I don't have that option to disable opt-in, but yes, that checkbox in the second screencap on the form integration itself is the one I mean.
See the screenshot of the confirmation email I have made in FluentCRM, versus what appears in my testing inbox, which I think must be a generic from Fluent Forms.
Laura BaughΒ The first screenshot is from Fluent Forms (on the individual form).
WendyΒ Perkins ShoefΒ Yes! And mine looks different, as shown.
My question to support a few months back. "It looks like both F Forms Pro and F CRM Pro have double opt-in functionality. I would assume that I should not use both. Are there any advantages and/or disadvantages to using either?"
Support Response:
Thank you for reaching out to WPManageNinja Support. Regarding the double opt-in functionality in Fluent Forms Pro and Fluent CRM Pro, we recommend choosing one to avoid redundancy.
Fluent Forms Pro: Ideal if we are using it primarily for form submissions and want the opt-in process integrated directly within the form.
Fluent CRM Pro: Better if we are using Fluent CRM to manage contacts and run email campaigns, as it provides a more centralized solution for email marketing.
If we are already using Fluent CRM for email management, itβs generally more efficient to rely on its double opt-in feature. This will help simplify the process and ensure everything is streamlined.
Bryant GibbonsΒ I definitely want to use just FluentCRM's opt-in. The problem is enabling it! :)
Laura BaughΒ Make sure you have double-opt-in disabled everywhere in Fluent Forms.
WendyΒ Perkins ShoefΒ When I do that, then no opt-in confirmation message is sent, it goes straight to email sequence.
Laura BaughΒ I'd definitely reach out to support about this. Record a video so they can see all the steps you have taken (cuz otherwise there will be back and forth of them suggesting things you've already done). They're really quick to reply (obviously with the understanding time differences).
Laura BaughΒ Here are the settings I'm using for Double Opt-In
FluentCRM > Settings > Double Opt-in Settings > Create your opt-in email > Use #activate_link# for plain url or {{crm.activate_button|Confirm Subscription}} for default button > After confirmation Type "Select one" > Save Settings
fluentForms (FF) > Global Settings > Double Opt-in > Turn it Off if you are using FF Pro.
Create your form in FF
Select Form > Settings & Intergrations > Settings > Confirmation Settings > Confirmation Type > Same Page > Message to show "Please check your inbox to confirm your subscription" > After Form Submission > Reset Form > Save Settings
Select Form > Settings > Integrations > Configure Integration > Add New Integration > FluentCRM Integration > Feed Name "Descriptive name for reference" > FluentCRM List "Select List to save contact" > Primary Fields "Select from fields to map to FCRM" > Contact Tags "Select Tags" < Select "Enable Double opt-in for new contacts checkbox" > Stats "Select Enable this Feed checkbox" > Save Feed.
Okay, after a LOT of back and forth, the problem turned out to be simple: There's a THIRD double opt-in setting at the list level in fCRM, which I didn't know existed but which was checked to use a different confirmation message.
Switching that to global instead of list-specific now sends my crafted confirmation message instead of a generic.
Sharing here in case anyone else also didn't know there was another place to check!
Laura BaughΒ also check out in fCRM Pro down at the bottom of the Double Opt-in settings you are able to do redirects based on Tags. I use this a lot.
I'm having the opposite problem; I want a specific confirmation email for a list, but I'm receiving the general email, not the one I designed for that list. Does anyone know what mistake I'm making?
LUZ QUICENOΒ That sounds like my problem, not the opposite! :) Did you see my solution with the third opt-in setting at list level? That was the key for me.
