Automation waiting action

I'm trying to replicate my ActiveCampaign environment since I didn't renew my tier.

But I'm stuck at my first automation waiting point, where I originally set to wait until certain conditions are met (a tag is added, or a custom field contains a specific text, or the user is on a specific list and so on...), and I see I can only set waiting for X time or data is allowed in FluentCRM.

As any of you faced this same situation?

I don't know if I'll have to post a feature request or if it's doable with a workaround like - maybe? - adding a "Target" or a "Condition verification"?

Chris Davis

Try using a Goal that looks for a tag being added. I think "Essential" is the language they use to ensure the contact doesn't flow past the action without meeting the condition.

Yeah that's exactly what I meant, Chris DavisΒ .

But it would be more "natural" (and easy) if there was a choice between "Wait until date / X time" and "Wait until set conditions are met".

Hope some dev's gonna come into this

Chris Davis

Marco MandalitiΒ lol, get used to it because there are quite a few areas that could be better written.

However, once you learn all the ins and outs you just work with them, or around them.

Marco Mandaliti

I also see there's no chance to add "[field / custom field] [contains / is equal / is / is not]" etc to the wait condition.... 😩

I'm stuck, definitely...

Chris Davis

Marco MandalitiΒ correct. There is no way to use a custom field for a wait condition for a goal.

You have to use a separate automation that uses the change of a custom field as the start trigger then use the "End Automation" to end the initial automation.

This is how you had to do it on ActiveCampaign way back in the day before they had goals in Automations.

(you'll have to search Github for the free plugin by WP Fusion that adds custom fields as start triggers).
