VAT number in customer profile

Shahjahan Jewel any update on the VAT number administration in the customer profile?

I really want to be able to create a b2b customer / order from admin

Juraj Hudák and I have been sharing a lot of feedback about FluentCart recently, so I think this is already on the radar 👀
I guess a lot of improvements will be coming soon!

Hey Natascha Vantuykom Jorge de los Reyes - I decided to try and solve my own personal VAT issues myself and created a plugin which, at the moment, solves my case and maybe it does yours. My issue was that i sell to both B2C & B2B, and the VAT handling was way off with FluentCart. Customers who put in a valid VAT would still pay the Gross Price (FluentCart just labelled tax as 0 which is wrong).

My plugin basically solves this. If you set your prices to include tax, customers without a valid VAT will pay Gross (and customers from the same EU country as the store, even with a VAT ID). Customers from another EU country WITH a valid VAT, will pay NET price. It also correctly declares VAT on the invoice.

Feel free to test it out - I did send it to Shahjahn but nothing really has come back from the team.

Shayne Thomas Hey Shayne! Thank you for the tag! Looks promising.

All this VAT issues should be solved in the next "compliance release" that it's currently being developed. Sarkar Ripon and the rest of the team are already aware of the EU-VAT feedback from the community, including this issue.

My hopes are that this will be addressed once the next EU-VAT compliance release goes live.

So hopefully, you won't have to maintain any custom plugins for solving this.

Let's keep an eye on it!

Hello Shayne Thomas , I looked at your SCOPE.md and I believe it will be natively implemented in FluentCart soon. However, try to check the reverse VAT calculation, because the result should be the following for the example with 100€ including VAT:

For an amount of 100€ including VAT and a rate of 19%:

Amount excluding VAT
100 /1.19 = 84.03€

Amount VAT
100 - 84.03 = 15.97€

Result:

Amount including VAT: 100.00€

Amount excluding VAT: 84.03€

VAT 19%: 15.97€
