Ugly PDF Invoice

Hi, I'm struggling with the PDF invoice, it looks terrible at the moment. Whenever I edit it in the Customize PDF templates, it doesn't change the actual PDF's that are being sent. Even so, I'm still not happy with how it looks and an important field (company name) is missing for example. Is there anyone who had a good looking PDF invoice and tips and information as to how to achieve that?
