Shipping integrations?
I see little info or questions on the topic of shipping integrations. Is nobody doing shipping like this?
I'm about to lose my client on FC now. They want to go back to Shopify if they can't have any shipping integration.
Brilliant ideas, thoughts, or comments?
Maybe I just have to build my own?
They only want you selling simple virtual products for now, not physical ones. If youβre impatient, just use Cursor to build it yourself, just a one-day job.
FC is not well equipped for physical product sales yet. I hope they focus more on shipping and local pickup features soon.
I have clients being tired of Shopify. But I have to wait recommending FC until some time in the future.
I'm looking into building a custom shipping integration for FluentCart now. Would be cool to know if anybody here is interested in this.
Very interested in a Shippo integration
Hi
Yes same here
An integration with Sendcloud would be a good idea as Sendcloud (EU) and Shipstation (US) would be a great idea as they cover 99% of shipping solutions in the world
Nicolas DΒ a year ago I would've voted heartily for Shipstation, however, with their recent changes in API access, they've narrowed their focus to only the largest businesses and nuked the vast majority of smaller businesses.
It appears that Shippo is fast becoming the preferred replacement for ShipStation.
Curtis BinghamΒ Any insights about Pirateship? I client prefers that. But being in touch with them, they are playing hard-to-get and won't give any info about integration. They also don't support developers much it seems.
John MacΒ I looked at Pirateship. They've been around longer than Shippo I believe. I found the pricing to be about the same across Shippo, PirateShip, and ShipStation. There were some use cases where one package to one zone was cheaper vs. another, but in all my tests they all averaged out to about the same. There isn't one that is hands down cheaper than the rest.
I talked with a couple of plugin developers who have plugins for all the shipping companies and they HATED ShipStation, and DETESTED Pirateship. The one that they universally recommended was Shippo because they were able to work closely to ensure the integration was solid, and they were given advance insights into Shippo changes so they could prepare. They said ShipStation was notoriously bad at working with any API integrators--you were intended to use the ShipStation app/web interface or nothing else. They said PirateShip was notorious for not documenting and making changes that were impossible to keep up with.
I've left ShipStation and have been using Shippo for the past year and so far it has been very good.
Curtis BinghamΒ Thanks! Awesome feedback. Well then those guys can piss off and I will focus on Shippo. I have already had a very welcoming meeting with them ππ»
John MacΒ Keep me posted! My current integration vendor isn't planning to support FluentCart.
