Shipping classes, and product page display?

Yay for release week! I am updating my site as fast as my fingers can fly to incorporate the changes (planned a launch this week, silly me!) and I have two questions:

1) Less important... I cannot find a visibility toggle for package type and weight on the product page, and I'm not sure the customer cares the type of box it will ship in. Also the "dimensions" are confusing, as it's for the package size and not the product the customer is looking at. Is there a quick way to disable that display?

2) More important... Is there a way to designate shipping method by class? I want to send prints by first class mail, and books by media mail, and jewelry by parcel post, because the per-weight costs are different for each product and customers don't want to pay the highest fee.

Thanks!

Hey Laura,

More important one first,

Shipping classes are the way to do this. You create custom classes for your shipping rates and regions and add the classes to the specific products you want that class to be used in.

Dimensions doesn't have a toggle right now. You can remove individual dimensions blocks from individual product pages. That's a brute force way and I don't think it'll work out for you.

If you're using elementor you can create custom product pages excluding the Dimensions block or customize your theme to ommit that field.

Hope this helps. We think there should be a programmatic approach to globally toggle the dimensions display if not a direct toggle button in the UI.
