Send order notifications to user inside FluentCommunity?

This falls involves both FluentCart and FluentCommunity. Is it possible to send notifications in FluentCommunity (like when a new post or comment is added) to users with things like order status, shipped, backordered, etc.? Or just in general is there a way to programmatically send general notifications inside FluentCommunity to users that could be used for order updates/promotions/etc.?

I'm looking at the code but it seems FC notifications are dependent on spaces/feeds, etc. but I could be missing something.
