Scaling FluentCart: Developer-Driven Payment Gateway Integrations
The payment gateway ecosystem is very diverse and can be overwhelming. Each country has its own specific methods and, of course, including them all in the core would be crazy.
Do you plan to create some kind of marketplace or official channel to extend functionality and allow the integration of new gateways?
I’m looking forward to you publishing the developer documentation so I can start building my own Redsys gateway (the most used virtual POS in Spain). The basic question is: how could I commercialize or distribute it? Is there any partner program or official channel planned?
Another very important payment gateway is Mercado Pago, as it is one of the most popular in Latin America.
I have lately been using ChatGPT to create code snippets. Having an open API to where I can connect a Nordic payment system with FluentCart using ChatGPT to create a code snippet would be great. As ChatGPT would just look up the available API for FluentCart and the Nordic payment system and create what is needed.
Paal Joachim Romdahl That's fine, but I think what I was saying is that you need to do something more elaborate, since you have to create a small administration interface to enter the bank POS data, be able to switch from test mode to production mode, and do some additional configuration.
FluentCart will be one of the best dev friendly ecom plugin. We are working really hard to document all the hooks. Our idea is, with very minimal code you can add an integration or a payment method. We want to grow the eco-systsem with 3rd party devs.
