Price increase with subscriptions
If I change the price of a subscription, will it also affect subscriptions that are already in place?

I think it should be an option to let you pick if you want to grandfather in those who are already subscribed to the lowered price or increase their monthly rate as well
MagikΒ +1
MagikΒ I agree! It must be updated for my hosting services but not for some other subscriptions' grandfathering.
Shahjahan JewelΒ Nishat ShahriyarΒ any input on this??
MagikΒ no. We create the subscription on payment methods itself so it will not be changed until cancelled. Thatβs how we designed it.
Shahjahan JewelΒ noted. So, just to clarify, if we change the price of a subscription, those who are already subscribed would be grandfathered in with their old pricing?
MagikΒ exactly. That's how it works.
Shahjahan JewelΒ Thank you for clarifying, then I know how to set things up

If I change the price of a subscription
\=> first of all you do not have the option to change the price of an existing subscription in FC. All you can do is, change the price of a product which has subscription as payment type.
will it also affect subscriptions that are already in place?
\=> For example if your previous product price was 20$, sold at 20$, will continue to charge 20$ even if you update the price of the product..
So, the short answer is "NO"
Ripon SarkarΒ That is good to know, thank you π€
Ripon SarkarΒ So if you change the price it will affect people who are already on that subscription product?
BobΒ No, it will not. They will be grandfathered into the price they paid
Diana van der PolΒ Gotcha. Thanks.
Honestly... I'm fine with that. It's good to know how that functions.
for those who want to grandfather in a product subscription, simply create a new product in its place with the updated price and hide the previous priced product from the store via a category filter (price change).
