NEW: Crypto Payments for FluentCart
Accept Crypto in FluentCart Without Giving Someone Else Your Crypto
Accepting cryptocurrency in an online shop often comes with an uncomfortable trade-off: You can make things easy by sending your customer through a third-party crypto payment processor — but then another company becomes part of your payment relationship. Or you can receive cryptocurrency yourself — but now your shop somehow needs to know whether the customer really paid.
Boriable was built to solve that second problem.
The money goes directly to you
Boriable is a crypto payment gateway for FluentCart.
You configure the wallet addresses at which you want to receive payment.
When a customer pays, the cryptocurrency goes from the customer's wallet directly to yours.
Boriable doesn't hold it first.
There is no Boriable balance from which you later have to withdraw your own money.
And Boriable doesn't need your private wallet keys or recovery phrase.
What happens during checkout?
A customer selects cryptocurrency as the payment method and chooses one of the currencies you've made available.
Boriable calculates the required crypto amount and presents the payment instructions and QR code.
Then it watches for the payment.
The customer sees the payment status progressing through stages such as:
Monitoring → Payment detected → Confirmed → Purchase successful.
Once the blockchain payment has been independently confirmed, Boriable tells FluentCart that the transaction has been paid.
Your normal FluentCart order process can continue. And in case of a refund, each transaction comes with an extensive order note. This way you know exactly what you need to in order to process the refund.
Which cryptocurrencies?
Boriable Pro 1.0 supports:
TRX, ETH, BNB, POL, LTC, XRP, SOL and BTC, together with USDC on Ethereum and Polygon and USDT on Ethereum and TRON.
You don't have to offer all of them.
Enable only the currencies and networks you actually want to accept.
Free means genuinely usable
Boriable Free isn't a crippled demonstration screen.
It provides actual TRX payments for up to 10 confirmed transactions per calendar month.
That gives a small merchant enough room to install Boriable, configure a wallet, make real transactions and decide whether crypto payments make sense for the business.
If more volume or additional currencies are required, Boriable Pro unlocks the complete payment catalogue without a Boriable transaction limit.
What about exchange-rate movement and costs?
Crypto prices can move between checkout and payment.
Network and conversion costs may also be something a merchant wants to accommodate.
Boriable therefore lets you add a percentage adjustment, a fixed adjustment in your store currency, or both to the final crypto amount requested.
For example, a $100 order with a 2% crypto adjustment asks the customer to send the cryptocurrency equivalent of $102.
The FluentCart order itself remains $100.
The adjustment applies specifically to the amount payable when crypto is selected.
What if a customer is slow?
The price displayed to the customer has a defined quote period.
Payment monitoring is treated separately.
So an expired price quote doesn't simply make an already initiated blockchain payment cease to exist.
Boriable continues monitoring accepted payment attempts within the configured payment window and can identify late payments appropriately.
Who verifies the payment?
This is one of the important differences in Boriable's design.
Your WordPress site does not simply decide for itself that a blockchain payment occurred.
Boriable's independent verification service monitors the relevant blockchain and reports confirmed settlement back to your shop.
This is also why the Boriable licence is more than a plugin activation key: it provides access to the verification service.
What does Boriable have access to?
Boriable doesn't need custody of your cryptocurrency.
It does not require:
- your private keys;
- your wallet recovery phrase;
- access to move your funds.
It needs public receiving information and the technical information necessary to identify and verify payments.
Why did we call it Boriable?
Because payment systems shouldn't be exciting.
Your products can be exciting.
Your marketing can be exciting.
Bitcoin can certainly be exciting.
But when somebody clicks Pay, the desirable sequence is exceptionally boring:
Customer pays → money arrives → order is paid.
That's the idea behind the name:
Boringly reliable.

PS: Listing for the Wordpress Repository pending.
PPS: If your FluentCart store is set to "Store-Billing", you can also use crypto payments for your subscription offers. Then the customer get's a link to his backend, from where he can initiate a new payment. Another QR-code, another crypto transaction that FluentCart then eagerly awaits for further processing.
Congrats on the launch, Helmar! 🎉
Jorge de los Reyes Muchas gracias, Jorge! At some point of the journey one has to take the plunge. For Boriable that point is today. May it find many happy users. In terms of licensing costs, I have no idea how it's being received, and open to adjustments as time goes by. Any merchant serious enough to offer crypto will appreciate how this can benefit his business. And then there's that yet to be explored world of new opportunities that may never ever touch traditional payment channels.
Helmar Rudolph The world belongs to the trailblazers. This might be pretty niche, but a great experience will definitely help spread the word fast!
Jorge de los Reyes That reminds me of a backpage article in Business 2.0 back in 1999. It was about a ficticious story about an entrepreneur who sold 100 USD notes for 99 USD. He reckoned that even though he lost money on this, it was only 1%, which would be offset by the attention he'd garner. The article closed with the immortal sentence: "God hates cowards." And of course, God hates no one, but the message was clear: Here's to the trailblazers!
Helmar Rudolph nice quote! 😄
Btw, this might be worth sharing beyond WordPress circles too. There could be a good opportunity to connect with businesses already accepting crypto, including through relevant events.
I’ve had some great business opportunities come from conversations that started in investment Telegram groups and continued in person with speakers, exhibitors and other attendees. Hard to beat a good face-to-face conversation!
Might already be on your radar! I’d just be selective about the events and partners: the company you keep matters, in that space.
Jorge de los Reyes At present that's virgin territory for me. I just relaunched v4.0 of my Sacred Symbols app for iOS and Android. And then there's still the big brother, Cardologica for MacOS, waiting to be marketed at least by a little bit. Cardology software for those among us who want to understand themselves better - and others, too. Free to use - with purchase options.
So, I hear you loud and clear. This may, however, be something for someone who breathes marketing. I do, but I can't wear both hats - and I got plenty other stuff to do. That said, am grateful for any kind of pointers.
Helmar Rudolph in my experience, a good marketing partner can make a huge difference (whether that’s a consultant, an agency, or an in-house team).
I’d probably start with some outside advice and a focused campaign with someone you trust (probably, directly with an agency). Clear goals, a manageable budget and regular check-ins to see what’s actually working.
I’ve seen businesses grow dramatically after committing to six months of consistent marketing. But it took more than spending money: good partners, a willingness to rethink assumptions, and enough budget to test, learn and adjust. Trust the process, yes (but keep checking the results).
That first commitment can be uncomfortable... You’re investing before you know how it will turn out. For me, that’s where the real challenge of running a business begins: making a considered decision despite the uncertainty.
Fortuna audaces iuvat! 😄
Let us know how your adventure continues!
Jorge de los Reyes Do you consider this being worth its while, given the relatively low penetration FluentCart enjoys at present? I do like the idea; I'm not so sure about the timing, though.
Helmar Rudolph It’s all about how you frame it. Mindset and beliefs play a huge part.
I’ve seen businesses pull off hugely successful launches with products that didn’t even exist until the night before.
You can present it as “just a crypto add-on for a WordPress plugin” or as “an opportunity for your business to…” Same product, completely different story.
That’s the magic of marketing, haha 😄
Don’t sell me a ticket or tell me how great the plane is. Sell me the destination, and make me want to go there.
Jorge de los Reyes Fair enough. And I do know about mindset. That's been my biz for the past 20 years, but one is never immune to limiting thoughts. So here's to the first 100 Pro licenses by the end of the year. :)
Helmar Rudolph Haha, with your Master Key background, I may have been preaching to the choir 😄 I’ve spent decades in the personal development world too, and I still need the reminders myself!
It reminds me of Nietzsche’s line: “Many a one cannot loosen his own fetters, but is nevertheless his friend’s emancipator.” Knowing something and applying it to ourselves can be two very different things.
Here’s to those first 100 Pro licenses 🥂
Rooting for you !
Jorge de los Reyes Thank you so much! Really appreciate it!
Congrats, this sounds very good!
F. C. Thanks so much. Exciting times ahead - and even more happy to contribute something meaningful to the Fluent eco-system.
Helmar Rudolph And by doing so FluentCart becomes even more attractive to more users. In time, perhaps there will be a healthy central addons repository for FC similar to what WooCommerce has.
F. C. Step by step. FC is still young, yet it already offers so much. With this plugin even a little more, and yes, may many other addons get.... added on. :)
Helmar Rudolph Indeed! It's barely a year old and they've already shipped so much.
F. C. They are on one mother of a roll - and what an enrichment to the Wordpress world it is!
F. C. I’d love to see an official add-on directory on the FluentCart website! Ideally with a review process and clear info on compatibility, updates and who provides support.
I can already imagine telling AI agents something like: “Check the FluentCart directory, find any add-ons that would genuinely help this business, and show me which ones are worth it. Once approved, buy the license, test them on staging and set them up.”
That would be pretty cool
Crazy times we are living on!
I am just missing the repository haha 😄 (And some FC updates too, though 😅)
Some more screenshots from the customer-facing side.
And would it work for membership sites with recurring payments—monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, or annually?
José Carlos Estirado That's impossible. Why? Because the payment has to be effected manually. There's nothing that takes coins from one wallet and sends it to another without human input. Crypto transactions usually require biometric authentication or at the very least 2FA. None of that can be automated.
That said, it would be nice, and a possible way would be to send out an email with the QR code, with an extra margin and an expiry date, but even that is manual.
Helmar Rudolph There's still a long way to go, but a crypto solution for recurring payments would be ideal. I suppose it will arrive in the future.
Here's an article you might find interesting:

Thanks for your reply.
Helmar Rudolph José Carlos Estirado I don’t think it’s impossible… just more challenging without an established payment infrastructure to build on 😅
A smart contract–based approach seems like a promising route. Stripe has a useful article explaining how recurring crypto payments work, including the role of smart contracts and the infrastructure needed to automate them. It could be a good starting point for exploring how to bring similar functionality to your plugin Helmar.
My guess is that most users will default to Stripe for convenience. But that also creates an opportunity for a native, open, peer-to-peer alternative aimed at people who would rather not rely on a centralized payment processor.
Especially given Stripe’s broader financial services offering and its push into agentic commerce, I think it will be hard to beat for businesses that want everything under one roof.
There’s a certain irony in the idea of embracing decentralization… through a centralized payment processor 😅 But that’s precisely where your alternative could stand out: not by trying to be another Stripe, but by offering something different.
Since the plugin doesn’t currently support recurring payments, adding that capability natively could become a standout Pro feature, and give users a much stronger reason to upgrade.
Not just “accept crypto payments,” but “run your subscriptions with crypto, directly within your own setup.”
Of course, you’d still need to weigh the potential ROI against development, security, and ongoing maintenance costs.
The real question is whether enough of your target customers need recurring crypto payments (and value that independence enough to pay for it!)
So I’d validate that demand before committing to the build. But as a way to differentiate Pro beyond simply accepting crypto, it certainly sounds worth investigating! 😄
Shahjahan Jewel - can we get a multi language checkout in FluentCart, please? Boriable is my only English product on an otherwise German website.
Jorge de los Reyes thank you x100. I'll pick that up and give you feedback ASAP.
Jorge de los Reyes A different take, and perhaps the more "native" one:
Thanks for pointing me to that Stripe piece — good read, and a fair place to start the conversation.
Dug into it properly: both patterns it describes (prepaid escrow, offchain signed pull payments) need a deployed, audited smart contract plus an external trigger service like Chainlink Automation or Gelato to actually schedule the pulls — nobody's building the scheduling themselves. It's also EVM-and-stablecoin-specific (Base/Polygon USDC/USDT, per the article), so it couldn't become a uniform feature across everything Boriable already supports — BTC, LTC, XRP, SOL, and TRX have no equivalent "approve and pull" primitive at all.
More importantly, it's a different trust model than Boriable's. Today Boriable never holds any authority over a customer's funds — it just watches the chain and confirms what already happened. A pull-payment contract needs the customer to pre-authorize a future charge, and needs whoever executes the trigger to hold real execution authority (the article itself flags multisig/hardware-key custody for that role). That's a meaningfully bigger security and liability surface, and it cuts against the "non-custodial, nothing to trust us with" reason to pick Boriable over a centralized processor in the first place.
So — not that route, at least not first. There's a smaller, more honest path that I think gets most people what they actually need: FluentCart already has a built-in "store-managed" subscription billing mode, where FluentCart itself generates the renewal invoice on schedule instead of a gateway owning it, and any plain one-time-payment gateway can be used to pay it — first payment and every renewal. That's already exactly how manual/offline payment methods work in FluentCart today. Boriable can plug into that same mechanism with a small, contained code change — no smart contracts, no new custody, nothing new to audit.
It wouldn't be silent auto-charging — the customer (prompted by a reminder) pays each cycle's invoice like a fresh checkout, with a fresh QR code. Not fully automated, but a real subscription workflow that runs entirely outside a centralized processor, and it fits the plugin as it exists today instead of becoming a second product bolted onto the first.
One caveat to be upfront about: store-managed billing is opt-in on FluentCart's side (gateway-managed is the default), so this would need clear setup docs, not a "just works everywhere" claim.
Scoping the actual implementation now — will report back once I know the shape of it.
Jorge de los Reyes José Carlos Estirado we're one step closer, having taken a different route. Tomorrow we'll see if FC's renewal reminder allows me to renew with crypto.
Helmar Rudolph great 😎💪
José Carlos Estirado The interesting thing: I paid with TRX, not with stable coin. So tomorrow I should get a new order, new QR code, and if the TRX amount differs in any way, so be it. It's the 10c equivalent, as it was today.
Helmar Rudolph It looks very good, let's see tomorrow what results it gives you. 😀
José Carlos Estirado That works, too! The store has been switched to store-billing. That triggered all the right emails, both to the store and the customer. The customer was then sent to his backend page, from where he could initiate a new payment, and select crypto (or whatever would tickle his fancy) at checkout. The transaction with a new crypto amount. - in my case TRX - was then successfully submitted, registered and cleared on the blockchain. Subsequently, the order was cleared and shown as paid on the FC backend.
Helmar Rudolph Well, that opens up a wide range of possibilities for customers who want to pay via crypto. Congratulations!
José Carlos Estirado give thanks to FluentCart for it's store-billing feature. That made it really easy.
Helmar Rudolph Of course, none of this would be possible without everything our friends at WP Manage Ninja do. 😎❤️
José Carlos Estirado Truth. But that's the beauty of it. We all work together for the greater good. Or as Charles Haanel wrote in the Master Key System: "what benefits one, must benefit all."
Hey Helmar Rudolph , I think this could be a really interesting "use case" of this feature.
Probably useful for exposure, SEO, and so :)
Sent it to the team. It may fit.
Just saying.
Jorge de los Reyes I could with a bit of word of mouth. If you know of any YouTuber reviewing Fluent products, a brief mention would be highly appreciated.
Screenshot showing recurring manual subscription payments done with - in this case - TRX.
On that note: as I had someone enter junk data into the ordering form for Boriable Free, please don't, otherwise I'll can the free version and attach a price to it, too. Thank you.
Helmar Rudolph Wow, people really get bored. If you find it happening a lot, well, you'll just have to make it a paid service and be done with it. That's how the internet is—nobody respects anything!
Helmar Rudolph Junk bot entries or do you think it really was an individual?
F. C. real person. Just didn't bother to include personal & address details, because it's a digital purchase, not one that gets shipped. I think it's common courtesy to fill in the required fields, but obviously not everyone thinks so.
From their perspective I get it as well. For a digital purchase it's not strictly necessary to enter your real personal details. With all the leaks and hacks these days all the more reason not to. I wasn't the one who entered fake details, I promise :)
I just get why people might do it.
F. C. did you buy a one-site license?
Helmar Rudolph No I haven’t bought any license. Currently I don’t have a need for crypto payments yet but I encourage these initiatives regardless.
