Native Multi-Vendor/Marketplace Support in FluentCart
Hello FluentCart Team and Community,
First off, congratulations on the impressive launch of FluentCart. The focus on speed, performance, and a unified commerce experience is truly a game-changer for single-store owners.
I am posting a feature request for the team to consider adding native Multi-Vendor (or Marketplace) functionality to FluentCart's future roadmap.
The Feature Request
The request is to build in the necessary infrastructure for users to create a full multi-vendor marketplace, allowing independent sellers to:
- Register and Manage their own store/vendor profile.
- Upload and manage their own products (inventory, variations, shipping rates) with a dedicated, front-end vendor dashboard.
- Process orders relevant only to their products.
- Handle commissions and split payments automatically (with the platform owner being the admin).
Why This Feature is Crucial for FluentCart's Growth
While FluentCart is currently an excellent single-store solution, introducing a native multi-vendor feature would:
- Expand the Target Market: It would allow FluentCart to compete directly with multi-vendor solutions built on top of other plugins (like Dokan on WooCommerce), capturing a massive market segment looking to build their own marketplaces.
- Leverage Performance: The core strength of FluentCart (speed and low-bloat) is perfectly suited for a multi-vendor site, where performance often suffers due to complex extensions. A native solution would be inherently faster and more scalable.
- Complete the "Fluent Ecosystem" Vision: Integrating vendor management with the speed of FluentCart, the automation of FluentCRM, and the ticketing of Fluent Support (for vendor/admin/customer issues) would create an unbeatable, holistic platform for the marketplace model.
Key Components Needed (From a User's Perspective)
- Vendor Registration & Approval: A process for new sellers to apply and be approved by the site admin.
- Vendor Dashboard: A dedicated, easy-to-use front-end interface for vendors to manage products, view sales reports, and track earnings/payouts.
- Commission System: Flexible global and/or per-vendor commission setting, and an automated payout system (e.g., integrating with Stripe Connect).
- Frontend Product Submission: Simple process for vendors to add and edit products.
This is a massive undertaking, but given the quality of the entire Fluent suite, I believe a native, performant multi-vendor feature would cement FluentCart as the premier e-commerce solution in the WordPress space.
Thank you for considering this request! π
Thanks for the suggesion. We don't have any plan for multi-vendor feature in the core right now. Maybe existing companies who already have multi-vendor support for woo can build similar solutions for FluentCart.
Shahjahan JewelΒ I will definitely write to https://dokan.co/ to get them integrated and when I manage to create an Idea with them, I will attach a link here.
Juraj HudΓ‘kΒ hey, what did Dokan say? I'm thinking to create my own multivendor solution for fluentcart with best performance and security possible.
Juraj HudΓ‘kΒ I would love to hear about any progress on this. I'd love to see this made available as well
Gerard GodinΒ I started working on it, but its not more than just marketplace, so first i wanna have a proper architecture for it. And also first I gotta launch my other product
CointacterΒ Ohh. What other product is that, I think I've missed it.
Gerard GodinΒ I mentioned it in some comments. Social Terminal. Core plugin is already on wordpress.org, and I already have a few addons ready, including Fcom SPA addon. So now im finalizing enterprise licensing architecture so users can simply connect their accounts and all licences populate. You can see it working in Fcom SPA here - https://test.cointacted.com/terminal/
And wporg plugin is here - https://wordpress.org/plugins/cointacted-social-terminal/
I know this social terminal sounds like something you never heard of or never thought you would need it, and marketplace for fluentcart would be more straight forward, but i gotta finish what i started, and i gotta do it in style. And yes, this social terminal will be needed for the planet. For example, itll have games addon and of course it will work with Fcom.
CointacterΒ Interesting, thanks
