Limit Downloadable Assets
It would be good to have a possibility to limit the access to a product attached files (expiration time, number of downloads - nolimit..x times, download by logged in users only or protect by simply custom password sent to customer email) - it would give more flexibility to control product attached files.
In addition Admin could enable a log for all downloads to monitor if a product was downloaded, number of downloads, hash(IP), date/time, username (if logged).
Currently anybody with a direct link can download products assets without any limits AFAIK.
after the first download each additional download should be handled as a no charge request for additional downloads so we have granular data to track resources and limit fraud and abuse in licensed products...
This is a must for a better controlled file download feature, especially to protect weak servers (or servers with limited bandwidth) from abuse. FluentCart should at least have these options:
- Only logged in users can download the files.
- Limit the file downloads per user per day/week/month/...
