Is SureCart or FLuentCart cheaper than Stripe for a monthly recurring subscription?

I'm confused because there are Stripe fees, SureCart (Launch plan) fees, subscription fees, etc. Does anyone have specific experience and comparation with this—how much does each one charge?

How SureCart handles subscriptions: SureCart doesn't use Stripe Billing, so Stripe's 0.7% Billing fee doesn't apply. SureCart then charges you about the same fee for itself, called the "SureCart Application Fee".

How FluentCart handles subscriptions: we take no fee on any plan. You have two choices:

  • Stripe Billing (default): you pay Stripe's 0.7% and get Stripe's Smart Retries for failed payments. This is what companies like OpenAI and Anthropic use.
  • Site-managed renewals: FluentCart charges the saved card itself. You pay Stripe's processing fee and nothing else. This is the same method SureCart uses, without the extra fee.

Example: $500/month plan × 100 customers = $50,000/month

With site-managed renewals on both:

  • FluentCart extra fee: $0
  • SureCart Pro extra fee: ≈ $250–350/month, which is ≈ $3,000–4,200/year (plus the $199/yr license)
  • SureCart Launch (free) extra fee: ≈ $1,700–1,800/month, which is ≈ $20,400–21,600/year

SureCart doesn't publish its exact rate, so these figures are most probably 0.5%–0.7%.

In short: if you want Stripe's retry engine, pay the 0.7% to Stripe. If you don't, keep it. There's no reason to pay it to a surecart.
