Interesting alternative to Google Analytics for FluentCart
Iโve been testing Independent Analytics for a few months now.
Short version: it solves 80% of what most people use Google Analytics for, with 20% of the friction.
Why I like it:
- Cookieless by default โ more GDPR-friendly
- Works out of the box with Woo, SureCart and FluentCart
- Way simpler and faster to set up than GA
If youโre looking for a no-nonsense analytics setup for FluentCart, this is it.
You will love the auto-generation of reports.
Especially relevant for Roberto Campos Arceย , who recently asked about GA + FluentCart.
Itโs a generous free plugin, with an LTD (ref) if you want extras like forms, conversions, etc.
I also spoke with the founder about FluentCommunity.
Since itโs an SPA, the /portal canโt be tracked the same way GA does: but even with that limitation (at least, for the moment), itโs already helped us spot real optimization opportunities: best pages, 404 error pages, track custom events, track best performing versions of specific landing pages, AI referers...
Important note: cookieless โ โGDPR solved.
You still have obligations.
But itโs clearly more privacy-respectful than Google Analytics.
I recorded a short video explaining why Iโm using it (from a GDPR perspective and more).
(Video is in Spanish, auto-dub enabled.)

Hope it helps. And hope you guys have a great entrance to the new year :)
I'm glad you found a solution you like, but I'm curious how you reconciled IA's use of Freemius with data privacy & GDPR compliance?
Charlotte Dย Hello Charlotte!
I remember you were the one pointing me to this: thank you again!
For what I've seen, freemius issue can be "disabled" during the initial setup, which already removes a big part of the concern. Even when enabled, it operates at the plugin/licensing level, not at the visitor analytics layer: legally a different issue with a different disclosure basis.
Not like some form plugins I know... that sends your data to analytics servers without notice ๐คฃ
The onboarding is solid. Not perfect, but itโs clear theyโve addressed the concerns that worried users in the past.
What I am missing is an independent external audit / evaluation (official one, not user-based). That said, under GDPR the controller is still the site owner, not the software. Tools donโt transfer responsibility. (Even they of course, can have their own liabilities).
A quick insight is that cookieless โ GDPR-free.
Misconfigure almost any tool and you can break compliance: thatโs exactly why GA/GA4 ran into trouble in some countries.
Personally, I still like cookie tracking for consent traceability (specially when you have good CMP settings).
But for fast KPIs, day-to-day insights, and reporting, I found IA is a genuinely strong plug-and-play solution!
I am sure many will find it useful.
Sadly, as I mentioned, it's not Fluent Community ready. So, for those relying on portal pages, it's such a missed opportunity. Specially for Lock Screens.
will be looking into this! thanks Jorge de los Reyes!
any affiliate links, or association? I have a client that will need this. watching your video now, with English subtitles ๐
Jeffย Yes, you may be able to find their affiliate program in their site ๐.
Iโve tried it myself in the past, and the system seems to be pretty consistent.
Jorge de los Reyesย I was asking if you had an affiliate link to them since you were promoting them maybe you did.
Jeffย hey Jeff. Sure!
