Installments and quotes
Now that I’m using FluentCart more intensively, I’m really starting to miss two features: installments and quotes. I know installments are already on your feature request list, but I was wondering if quotes are also planned? If not, could you please add this to the list as well? Along with installments, these are the features I use (and now miss) the most in my daily workflow.
Even better would be the ability to send a “collection” of invoices as a single payment request, where each invoice could have its own “pay before” date. This would make managing multiple projects or split payments much easier for both me and my clients.
Diana van der Pol what is wrong with the installments you already have in FCart? Just choose subscription and tick the installment box
Manuel Müller I think many users will continue to be confused until installments are finally treated as their own separate category 🙈.
It’s really not ideal to mix concepts like subscriptions and installments (especially when we’re talking about financing a purchase for a client, and similar use cases).
Hopefully this can be updated soon! I’ve seen quite a few users asking for it.

Jorge de los Reyes you're definitely right, that it's too hidden to be seen easily....i think my answer sounded aggressive, which it definitely shouldn't have been.....more of a "hey, it's already there" (sorry Diana van der Pol )
Manuel Müller to me, it sounded just passionate, not aggressive 😄
Diana will forgive you… eventually
Jorge de los Reyes Already done! I'm not so much into being offended lol
Manuel Müller I saw it later indeed. But an installment isn't the same as a subscription. When I invoice a client, I need the invoices to be different prices, 40%, 30%, and 30%, for instance for projects. That's why I think adding multiple invoices together or paying in installments would be beneficial.
Manuel Müller no worries 🤗
Installments are already available.
They are... hidden under "subscriptions" (not very friendly... as they are different things).
But maybe you missed that.
About quotes.... YES +1 for that 🙈
Jorge de los Reyes I wanted to use this but could not figure out. My use case is a one-off purchase that I want to let users pay for in split payments. Using this subscriptions - can you set it so the "subscription" is for one year, 4 installments that then tally up to the full price? And definitely then does not charge again once the installments are complete.
Ross FCA Sure!
For charging 4 times a year, you select the basis and it will show you the total price.
Here is an example.
If you disable installments here, there will be no end and no total price.

I know, this way sounds super risky. Because it's under subscriptions...
That's why I was referring earlier that this should be put as a separate category...
The fear and confusion is pretty normal!
Jorge de los Reyes I saw it later 😂
Am using it now, and hoping for a better solution for quotes
Jorge de los Reyes Thanks Jorge! That was super helpful and made me understand what I was actually doing. I've now managed to set up a couple 3x split payment options which seem to working!
Ross FCA awesome! Wish you an absolute success with your sales! 🥳
I think quotes and invoices should be seperate from the cart. There are so many regulations that it is allmost impossable to do good for everyone. We created a plugin for quotes and invoices that work great with woo and fluentcart / fluentcrm and the new European peppol rules because there was nothing on the market that fitted our needs
Wouldn’t it suit everyone if we have a box to check or not in the FluentCart parameters : « enable quote button »
So that the customer has the choice, when his cart is ready to either click « Pay now » or « Send me a quote ».
Then of course the Invoice title is adjusted as a Quote and sent automatically based on the item that where in the cart. With a mention that signed quote can be sent back to « this email adress ».
Personnaly I would even need a box : « disable pay now button » as my profession doesn’t allow me to collect payment without a quote and proper contract signed before ! This solution would be perfect for a « build your personalized service package with options and instantly receive a quote » customer experience.
