I'm giving up Fluentcart for a while.
I tried working with Fluentcart. I was really hoping to use it and abandon WooCommerce. But it's not possible for a European. Managing VAT, OSS rules, and invoicing with nomenclatures based on country and company structure makes the tool unusable (in my opinion). I'll try again later. I created a plugin that was supposed to link it to Vosfactures, which handles my invoicing. I'm completely stuck. It's so frustrating. So I'm going back to WooCommerce.βΉοΈ
We have tons of customers from Europe who are using FluentCart, and we are improving EU-specific features every month. So instead of this type of post, let us know exactly where you are failing, which feature need to be improved, how a feature should work.
We are working with a few EU based Agencies to improve our overall features.
Shahjahan Jewel VAT management, as I wrote in my post. In Europe, digital products have different VAT rates. For example: a live online course = VAT charged to the instructor, an asynchronous online course = VAT charged to the buyer. A face-to-face course = VAT charged at the location of the training... Add to that the B2B and B2C distinctions. So, in my case, we have several types of tax and multiple customer management systems. In WooCommerce, you define a tax table based on the product type. Then, based on the order form entry, WooCommerce performs the reconciliation. I can then automatically send this information to my accounting software via API. Everything is automated. Regarding the last point, I'm aware that I need to develop the standard plugin. But your VAT priority system is completely illogical within our European system. In any case, I can't understand how your priority system works. It doesn't function like that. A product with a tax type and an address (with or without a business number that determines the tax application). I can't seem to simplify this in my head. Why priorities? There you have it. Now, as I'm writing it. I'll come back to this because without Fluentcart, we can't make sales seamless in FluentCommunity. And that's a shame. Opening sales with a payment system like WooCommerce would be nice too. But I have the license, so I'll come back to that later ;-)
And I read all the Fluentcart documentation.
Shahjahan JewelΒ please look at my support tickets regarding tax/VAT numbers
I agree with DAVID MOUSSEBOISΒ and FluentCart urgently needs to finalize two basic things for the European market: first, structured identification data of the seller and buyer, i.e. legal name, billing address, country, company registration number, national tax identification number, VAT ID, B2B/B2C distinction and VAT ID verification via VIES, because without this data it is not possible to reliably determine the place of delivery, reverse charge, OSS mode or correct VAT rate; then it is necessary to build an EU VAT Decision Engine on top of this, which will not only work through tax classes and priorities, but for each order item will evaluate the type of product or service, seller identity, buyer identity, country, B2B/B2C status, VAT ID validity, OSS mode, place of delivery, resulting VAT rate, invoice note and accounting/export code for connection to billing systems.
Agreed here sadly, without this sorted and the ability to API all of the order details including payment to XERO it's a non starter...
