Huge Miss - Log in at Checkout
Hi. I'm reallying digging FC, but I was shocked to learn that you cannot log in during the checkout process. From support...
"At this moment, FluentCart does not include a built-in login option directly within the cart/checkout process like some other eCommerce platforms."
Like I said, huge miss IMO.
Otherwise, love it so far. π
It's important to have to reduce friction during checkout so I hope they add it really soon.
Yes +1 for this
InfluenceWPΒ It's not a huge miss ...it's a tremendous one .... Account creation is at the heart of any thing that delivers value.
I built an add-on to solve this for now. It was stupid easy to do, so there's no reason the FC team can't roll this out right away.
The only thing the add-on won't do is pull the payment info into the Checkout form. That's a bit more of a dangerous road to go down, so I didn't attempt it.
If anyone wants a copy, lemme know. Happy to share it.

InfluenceWPΒ Nice job Ryan :)
I really love FluentCart, but missing these kinds of small quality-of-life features makes me wonder what the developers are focusing on sometimes. FluentCart lacks so many simple features that other e-commerce platforms already have out of the box to boost conversions. Yes, it is still a young platform, but before you start designing a plugin, you would expect them to look at what the competition is doing and improve on that, instead of trying to reinvent the wheel.
The same goes for buying digital products. I wanted to buy two plugins at the same time on FluentlyWP, but an unknown error popped up after I filled in all my details and credit card info. Only after the developer contacted FluentCart support did it become clear that the error was caused by the system not allowing multiple products. That is poorly thought out, and even worse executed by not preventing users from adding multiple items to their cart in the first place.
Sander W.Β Valid points here. I'm new to FC, but part of what I do at InfluenceWP is lean hard into products and help vendors improve. I'll be doing an unbiased first look here soon and will share it with the FC team. That's about all I can do aside from creating add-ons to fill in gaps in the meantime.
