How to Put a Free Digital Product in Someone's Account?
Sometimes I want to give a user one of my products for free as a thank you (or an apology😬)
The way I do it now is to send them a coupon, which they like of course, but sometimes I wish it could just appear in their account.
Is there a way to do that?

A manual order with a full discount should do what you want. Create the order for that customer, add the digital product, and discount the full amount so the total is $0. Then mark it complete. The product should show up in their account like a normal purchase, so you do not have to send a coupon.
Great idea, thanks Nikhil Modi That worked. It sends the customer a purchase email, so that is something to keep in mind (tell the customer first)
I also found a bug. The product I gifted had downloadable assets that had been turned off in the product setup (so invisible to admins) but the customer got them anyway.
