German Market Integration
Hi all,
will there be full compliance with German/EU Markets? Addons like Germanized are key in Woocommerce in comparison to be able to use the store system in Europe. Is this already fully covered?

“Button Solution” (German Law Summary)
The Button-Solution is a German e-commerce regulation (since 2012) requiring:
- Full cost transparency before purchase.
- The final “Buy” button must clearly indicate that payment is due (e.g., “Buy Now” / “Jetzt kaufen”).
- All mandatory information (product features, total price, taxes, delivery costs, etc.) must appear immediately before the Buy button.
- No distractions or other clickable elements (checkboxes, info texts, etc.) are allowed between the order summary and the button.
Required Checkout Adjustments (from Germanized for WooCommerce)
1. Buy Button Label
- Must use clear wording like “Buy Now” / “Jetzt kaufen”.
- Payment methods cannot override this text (e.g., PayPal, Klarna, etc.).
- Smart buttons (e.g., PayPal JavaScript buttons) must be manually configured to use compliant text and layout.
Checkout Structure

By default, WooCommerce shows:
- Payment methods
- Order summary
- Buy button

Germanized swaps this order to:
- Order summary (with product list, features, total price)
- Buy button
- Payment methods
Legal Checkboxes
All mandatory legal checkboxes (e.g., Terms & Conditions, Revocation Policy, Privacy Policy) must appear before the order summary, not below the Buy button.
- Nothing (not even legal notes) may be placed between the order summary and Buy button.
Visual Highlighting
- The order summary must be visually emphasized (different background color or frame).
Product Attributes in Checkout
For each product, show key features, unit pricing, delivery time, etc. Optionally: allow merchants to define custom short descriptions for the checkout view.
Buy Button Implementation
- WooCommerce normally places the button inside
woocommerce/checkout/payment.php. - Germanized hides the default button and inserts its own directly after the order summary.

Sebastian Scharf Well, the order question seems a little exaggerated. I don't know any shop, that places the payment methods after the "buy now" button. That would be weird. Actually, the "buy now"-button has to be the last thing you click to place the order - at that point you must already have chosen your payment method.
If you look at big German shops like amazon.de or otto.de (or even bahn.de), all have payment options before or besides the order summary.
The important changes I see needed for FluentCart are:
- Placing the buy-button below the order summary (I think they will make checkout block customization in Q4/25 anyway)
- Having the possibility to add the necessary legal texts and links above the buy button (that should be possible then, too)

I think we need to get the Vendidero guys (who made Woo Germanised) to make a FluentGermanized version. I buy that in a heartbeat.
