FluentCart vs Paymattic
Setting up a donations platform for a non-profit. Was originally going to use Paymattic, but am wondering if anyone is using FluentCart for donations? Paymattic is really nice, but I am strongly considering FluentCart instead.
Any thoughts?
It is so important to be clear about the desired features you want for donations, because for example, there is no progress bar in FluentCart, not a target amount. There may be an integration or extension of FluentCart functionality, but I would stay with Paymattic. But why are you considering FluentCart instead of Paymattic as a donation system?
The main features are one time and recurring donations. Paymattic requires a clunky setup for user registration so that donors can view their dashboard (Paymattic Dashboard). If we needed to do any campaigns with a progress bar than Paymattic could still be used for one-off campaigns. FluentCart is much more integrated and would make for a better user experience. This is why I was asking. Was being intentionally vague to see what questions came up. FluentCart also looks like it belongs in the website without much if any customization where as Paymattic forms look third-party embedded no matter how much you customize them.
Jerad HillΒ If you only need one-time and recurring payments, then FluentCart is suitable even in the case that the organization happens to be a VAT payer β you can set it up with zero VAT. However, if you expect specialized functionality thatβs usually used for donations, Iβd stick with Paymattic. And if youβd like to use the FluentCart purchase process, then the only option would be a custom extension or connecting Paymattic with FluentCart. It would actually be great if the Fluent team implemented this as an integration, or even better, incorporated the entire Paymattic into FluentCart as another fully supported use case.
Interesting.... I will follow along with the discussion here.
+1 This would be great. Currently using Gravity Forms + Pronamic Pay for donations. But would be much better if integrated in Fluentcart. To streamline everything and give the user a dashboard where they can find there donations. And less extra plugins needed.
So Paymattic actually does this well but FluentCart is better integrated. I might have to do both and report my findings.

I don't need a 'Goal' or target amount, but I need folks to be able to set up a recurring "Pay What You Can" amount. That's how we price our services. Paymattic handles this well, like the other posters have said, but of course the fluent cart integration is better. I would hope that maybe Shahjahan JewelΒ could add a name-your-price option? :-D
Michael HallΒ Hey I built a small plugin that adds this functionality - https://github.com/tdrayson/fc-name-your-price
It uses the FluentCart custom product api and follows the FluentCart styling. https://dev.fluentcart.com/modules/custom-product-selling
Has a couple different options and features. Feel free to give it and try and let me know
Taylor DraysonΒ thanks a million. This really helped β it clarified the workflow so well and makes the site really great for this. Thanks!!
Thats really perfect. Thank you. Running it already.
So kind, friend!!!
