FluentCart 1.6.4 is here, and your products can have video now πŸŽ₯

Our goal with FluentCart is to be conversion-focused at the core and accessible for everyone. Video support in the product gallery is part of that. For a lot of products, a short video sells better than anything you can write, and now you can use one.

With FluentPlayer, the free one is enough, and a Video tab shows up in the gallery dialog. Paste a YouTube or Vimeo link, a direct video URL, or pull something from your FluentPlayer library. You can drag it among your images and it plays inline where the main image goes. Put it first and that is what people see when the page loads.

A few other things in this release:

  • Your staging site can't bill your live customers anymore. Test mode blocks renewals, scheduled charges and reminder emails.
  • Stripe hosted checkout shows a line per product instead of one lump total.
  • Product pages load faster. A huge performance improvement.
  • Zero-decimal currencies like JPY and HUF finally behave across PayPal, Stripe, Mollie, and Authorize.Net.

Plus some smaller fixes and improvements.

PS: We have a few more exciting features lined up for next week. Let me know what you think of this one in the comments.

This is super cool!

<\\<Upgrade paths could be configured on one-time products but had no customer-facing entry point; the Upgrade button only appeared on subscriptions. Paid one-time orders with a configured upgrade path now show the same Upgrade option in the customer dashboard. For software stores selling a lifetime tier, or a course with a bigger bundle above it, the upsell now reaches the customers who already said yes once>>

Now THAT is an update!

Very cool!!

One question: Is there any setting that allows us to charge all subscriptions on the same renewal date?

For example, if a customer subscribes on the 17th, they would initially be charged a prorated amount, but all subsequent renewals would start on a fixed date β€” say, the 1st of every month.

Jorge de los Reyes,Β we don't have such a feature. The current subscription is on a standard renewal cycle.

Shahjahan JewelΒ Thank you for the update!

Great update! πŸš€

Adding video support to the product gallery is a fantastic improvement. It gives store owners a better way to showcase their products and create a more engaging shopping experience. πŸ‘

Great! Looking forward to next week.

Shahjahan JewelΒ I want to report what I think is a bug in the Elementor widgets for both the Product Info widget and the Related Products widget. On mobile, a lot of white space is being added beneath the widgets (possibly 100vh?). I spent a lot of time checking and rechecking every setting in Elementor trying to resolve this. Nothing worked. So it seems to be a bug with the widgets. It was happening with the previous version of FluentCart and still persists.

Thank you Shahjahan JewelΒ

Love this. On the note of a staging site being able to bill live customers, I've also found that FluentCRM on a staging site will send emails. Is there any way to prevent this by default?

Parm SagguΒ if you use FluentSMTP then you can just enable email simulation on staging.

Shahjahan JewelΒ ah I see that setting, thank you!

Great update. Video sells more of my products than anything else.
