Feature Request: Service Notifications & Action Center for FluentCart (with optional FluentCommunity integration)

I think there is an interesting opportunity for FluentCart that could also integrate beautifully with FluentCommunity.

The problem

Many of us don't only sell products: we sell services.

Consultants, coaches, agencies, lawyers, accountants, therapists, mentors... we all have clients who need to complete different steps throughout the lifecycle of a service.

Today those reminders usually happen via email, Slack or manually, but they're easy to miss.

Proposed feature

Introduce Service Notifications (or Action Center) as part of FluentCart.

The idea is to allow store owners to create persistent notifications that are assigned to one or more customers.

These notifications would remain visible until the customer completes the requested action or the business manually dismisses them.

Examples:

  • Upload the requested documents.
  • Book your onboarding session.
  • Complete your intake questionnaire.
  • Review the draft contract.
  • Pay the remaining balance.
  • Schedule your next coaching session.
  • Sign the proposal.

Unlike emails, these would always be visible whenever the customer logs into their account.

Why FluentCart?

Some time ago I suggested introducing a Service product/category inside FluentCart (similar to ideas discussed around "Fluent Services" and Nelson's Services for SureCart addon - incredible plugin by Nelson Miller).

This feature would fit perfectly into that vision.

Each purchased service could have:

  • Current status (Pending, Waiting for Client, In Progress, Review, Completed...)
  • Assigned notifications
  • Required customer actions
  • Internal notes
  • Service milestones

That would turn FluentCart into a much stronger platform for selling professional services, not only digital products.

Optional FluentCommunity integration

If FluentCommunity is installed, these notifications could automatically appear inside the Community notification center.

That means businesses wouldn't need another interface.

Customers would simply see:

πŸ”” "Your consultant is waiting for you to upload your documents."

πŸ”” "Please schedule your strategy session."

πŸ”” "Your contract is ready for review."

Because the notifications already exist inside Community, it feels like a very natural integration.

Why this matters

For service businesses, the biggest bottleneck is often client responsiveness, not payment.

Anything that reduces forgotten emails, missed steps and onboarding delays improves both customer experience and operational efficiency.

And this will also stop things like: Hey, what should I do next?

This would also make FluentCommunity much more useful for private client portals, coaching programs, agencies, legal firms and similar businesses where communication happens over weeks or months.

I believe this could become one of those features that differentiates the Fluent ecosystem from traditional ecommerce plugins by making it a true client management platform, not just a checkout solution.

Sounds cool.

F. C.Β The purchase, is just the start.

I am sure there is a really nice space for add-ons, solutions or even native features for the delivery: without purchase, there is no experience. But with a poor experience, there is no commitment and engagement for future purchases.

Let's increase that LTV! haha

The plugin allows you to do this and more πŸ˜€
If you want, book a demo, i explain everything : https://clientvault.pro/callagency

Dragan STAMENKOVICΒ Hi Dragan, thanks for sharing this. I took a look and I think the idea is promising, especially the personal approach and the effort around localized videos.

My main first-impression suggestion would be to show the real product much earlier. For this type of tool, I would trust it faster if the demo showed the actual customer journey, admin workflow, screenshots, concrete use cases, and perhaps a shorter 3-5 minute walkthrough focused on the core pains it solves.

The longer videos are useful for people already interested, but commercially I think a tighter β€œshow me the product and the workflow” demo would be more convincing than a polished explainer or a long slow walkthrough.

Also, for a product at this price point, especially if it may appeal to law firms or compliance-sensitive businesses, the presentation needs to build trust very quickly: real screens, clear outcomes, practical use cases, pricing clarity, and less friction before understanding the product.

I have a few more detailed notes on positioning, localization and compliance/trust signals, but they are probably better shared privately so they don’t derail the thread. Happy to send them over if useful.

Overall: promising initiative, but I think the go-to-market would be stronger if the website made the product feel more tangible faster.

Jorge de los ReyesΒ Thank you for your feedback. You can find demo videos here: https://clientvault.pro/demonstration

I agree with you that the editing should focus more on use cases, especially in videos, and that's planned.

The priority right now is to gather as much customer feedback as possible, which helps me improve the product. That's how Client Vault is being built.

Client Vault customers aren't necessarily lawyers or notaries. They're more often WordPress agencies that have these professions as clients. (That's just one example.) There are also WordPress users, trainers, etc.

That's why live demonstrations are always appreciated, even more so than presentation videos. And, there's the quick human interaction, which is important to my vision.

Thank you again for your valuable feedback, and I'm happy to share more via DM or even on the Client Vault community. All positive feedback is welcome, and I'm very open to suggestions. Every idea and feedbacks is valuable.

See you soon!

Dragan STAMENKOVICΒ Hi Dragan,

Thanks for the clarification.

Just to clarify one point: I had already found the demonstration page and watched some of the longer French demo videos with English captions before writing my previous comment. My French is a bit rusty, but I could follow the general idea, so my feedback was already based on those materials too.

That is actually why my main suggestion remains the same: I think the real product and the practical workflows should appear earlier and more clearly in the first sales experience.

The long demos (29’) are useful once someone is already interested, but I think there is a missing layer before that: a shorter, tighter 3-5 minute walkthrough showing one complete workflow, from the client journey to the admin side. Something concrete: one use case, one client, one agency or professional, one request, documents uploaded, status updated, action completed.

I also understand that many direct customers may be WordPress agencies rather than law firms themselves. That makes sense. At the same time, because the website visibly includes legal/notarial use cases, professional secrecy, GDPR and audit-trail positioning, I think the trust bar remains high even when the agency is the immediate buyer.

For that kind of product, trust is built very quickly through real screens, workflow clarity, privacy/compliance signals, concrete use cases and less friction before understanding the product.

I like tools such as Remotion, Hyperframes and AI-assisted video production, so my point is not against that style of video. The issue is context: when the product deals with sensitive documents, client portals and compliance-sensitive workflows, a polished explainer should probably support the real product proof, not replace it as the first impression.

Overall, I think the concept is promising. My main suggestion would be: show the product faster, make the workflow more tangible, and make the trust/compliance signals stronger from the first visit.

Thanks again for being open to feedback. I’ll be sending you more feedback in private that I really hope can help you!

Santi Ruiz

This would be awesome! It would be a perfect addon for us! Great idea Jorge de los Reyes! πŸ˜ƒ

Santi Ruiz Thank you, Santi!

I think I've brought this up two or three times since this community started. πŸ˜„ It's funny how I always end up coming back to features like this.

Services really need more love in the WordPress ecosystem.

Not everything sold online is software or physical products. Agencies, consultants, coaches, lawyers, accountants, and other service-based businesses need a much better way to manage service delivery after the purchase.

If this could be integrated directly into the checkout flow(similar to what Nelson built so elegantly for SureCart) I genuinely think FluentCart could evolve into a very compelling customer relationship and service delivery platform, not just an e-commerce solution.

Jorge de los ReyesΒ Thank you so much for this constructive feedback. I completely agree with you, and that's exactly what will be happening very soon. No more practical examples and, let's say, a bit less pompous marketing. Currently, I've been mainly focused on highly requested features and solidifying the core of the plugin. I like to present polished products that will meet a real need in the field. The plugin is now very mature thanks to daily development and community feedback. From now on, I'll be focusing more on showcasing the plugin in real-world scenarios. This will be the subject of numerous short videos rather than longer ones geared towards a wider audience. Thanks again for your feedback, and see you soon!

Would love to learn more how you have setup FluenCommunity currently for your work if possible Jorge de los ReyesΒ The screenshot you shared caught my attention.

I'm looking to do something similar. I was thinking on doing a completely custom application as a client portal but if there is a way that could save me time because I honestly don't have the time to do a webapp and at the same time do client work.

Thanks!

Sebastian cΒ Hey Sebastian, of course. Happy to share what I’m doing.

What do you need specifically? Are you trying to build a client portal, a private community, a delivery dashboard, or a mix of all three?

In my case, I use FluentCommunity mainly as a service dashboard and private client area, not as a public community.

That distinction matters. For my work, the public layer can create noise if it is not very well focused, and the β€œprivate but not really private” layer can also become messy. So I’ve kept it closed and client-only.

The way I see it, it is less β€œcommunity” in the classic creator sense and more a set of high-value private groups between clients who can genuinely benefit from each other.

I’ve been resisting the idea of creating a public community again because consultants like us usually work with fewer people and companies, but better ones: clients who value 1:1 relationship, premium services, trust, and tangible results.

That is very different from the creator model, where you can build a large audience, charge $10/month, and then create upsells and a broader funnel around it.

Niche communities can be great, but if there is no real interaction, they quickly become a dead space and even bad social proof.

So yes, FluentCommunity can probably save you time compared with building a full custom web app, but I would first define exactly what you need the portal to do: onboarding, resources, tasks, communication, session follow-up, files, client groups, or all of that.

If you tell me the specific use case you have in mind, I can explain how I’d approach it with FluentCommunity and where I think a custom app would still make sense.

Jorge de los ReyesΒ I would just like to see how you had it setup since it looks the dashboard is completely private to that specific client, which looks very nice and caught my attention. That would be helpful for me to do a very similar thing: provide status updates, ask for deliverables and so on.

My agency does branding work, web design and development, and a bunch of other graphic design services like Vehicle wrap design, business cards, and some of these we can print or are shipped after the design work (Signs, business cards, door hangers, etc).

Jorge de los ReyesΒ If you have loom a video would be awesome you can keep the client data hidden obviusly :)

We need this for our case, a service like web development takes a cycle and an order can be paid in full, partial , upfront or on a later date. seems fluentcart focuses more on physical and digital products only
