Digital File Download Question
I've used FluentCart for a while to sell some community access and courses, but now I'm selling a digital file (a zip with a PDF & spreadsheet) for the first time. I'm not clear on how the zip file gets delivered.
It's set up with AWS S3 and I presume there is a download link after checkout. However, I don't see a way to test a transaction at the product level; only the store level.
Are we expected to purchase our own products to make sure the download works correctly? I presume it does, but nothing I've researched on digital files addresses the download after the sale.
How and when is the buyer prompted to download? Is it automatic after the transaction is complete?
Thanks.
Yes the user gets the download link(s) on the confirmation page, as well as in an email and in their dashboard. It's always a good practice to try to buy a new product to make sure all is working as expected.
Screenplay UnlimitedΒ Thanks for the confirmation. I know they can refer to their account page and download it there. I just never got through a trial with a digital download before to see it in action.
I suppose I could drop the price to do my own purchase test.
William BeemΒ You can do that (create a 99% or 100% coupon that only works for you so that you donβt have to change the price of the product for your users) or you can purchase at the full price and test a refund as well. But the best way is to create a staging site, put fluentcart in test mode, and use test credentials (for example, Paypal, Paddle etc have a sandbox mode or allow you to create a sandbox account) which allows you to test everything with a fake credit card and make sure that you test absolutely everything without having to make real transactions.
Screenplay UnlimitedΒ I like the coupon idea. Thank you!
Maybe create a 100% coupon code and purchase one and test? The Test/Live mode is store level.
Shahjahan Jewel,Β I haven't worked with any coupons yet, which is why I didn't think of it. Thanks!
