Ability to use external Sales Tax systems like Tax Cloud
I really want to finally drop woocommerce and am considering fluent cart as the replacement. I already use a few other fluent products and love the stability compared to other brands. However one of the deal breakers is the lack of connection to external sales tax api services, atleast from what ive gathered from the documentation.
In the US we have over 12000 sales tax jurisdictions with very complex laws surrounding each one. Currently we use Tax cloud for sales tax calculations, nexus tracking and returns. Its not something we can drop or replace with manual sales tax inputs. If an integration to services like tax cloud or a way to connect to them manually can be added that would take us one major step to finally getting rid of woo.
Added to our discussion list. thanks for the feedback
Ripon SarkarΒ appreciate you taking the time to look at my request.
This is an absolute deal-breaker for me. There must be a way to provide the external tax calc servcie with customer address and business status inlcuding GST / VAT number (B2B and B2C are handled differently). That's what the external tax calc services are for -- there has to be a way to populate correct sales / GST / VAT tax at checkout. I don't expect you to build complex tax calc engines into the product, just the ability to link to an external service.
Sadly, in the USA, without the ability to poll API's for taxes, it's a non-starter. Like the Basel says, there's over 12,000 different tax rates in the USA. There's state, county, city, special zones, etc. There's just no way for this to be usable. I am also looking to escape WooCommerce with their million plugins for a basic website.
Is anyone in USA using this? How are you calculating the approximate 12,000 different tax rates across the USA?
MItchΒ doesnt look like it yet from the lack of responses. Thats too bad. I would love to switch soon.
I am facing this issue as well in Alabama. Sadly, I should have looked into this in more detail before purchasing. I cannot use FluentCart if this cannot be implemented. Big miss by the company in my opinion.
