When to launch your community

There was some discussion recently about how best to launch your community, when it's ready, what needs to be done...

You could do it the scary way, which is what I'm doing 😁

Set yourself a ridiculous timeline, tell everyone about it and then #buildinpublic

I hope I see some of you there - wishing you all a very happy, prosperous (and slightly terrifying) New Year πŸŽ‰

Good luck with your project. I am building mine and will do a very soft launch with some friends as beta testers first :)

When to launch? ASAP! In some cases, you may need to hire a developer to design your site, which may take 10+ hours, however, if you are actually setting up courses then it may take longer, but why wait? Setup your categories, get your design done, then launch, then start adding content and setup courses as you go, if you dont have courses then you can launch sooner than later. It may take longer then you think to actually build up a following, depending on your niche.

I launched a Photography site on November 25, mainly because I'm sick of FB groups. It's been slow, and I sure am learning lots. Kind of surprised, as I did not expect much-needed development. I've drunk a lot of Kool-Aid over the years. Well, the basics are there, and we move forward. Trying to build a core... but is a slug.
