Weekly Summaries

Im not sure if this is a bug report, or something I need to broker with my mail service, but my mail got shut down as it performed its mail out to our memberbase due to spam alerts.

Is there a best practice to follow here ?

I have turned the weekly summaries off for the time being, which is an absolute shame

Are you using a spam-compliant sending service or is it sending from your hosting server?

Which email sending service are you using?

John Waters

Shahjahan JewelΒ cloud ways

John WatersΒ You are hosting your site on Cloudways. But if you are sending emails through your hosting and not through a spam-compliant system, you will have issues.

John WatersΒ By default, most WordPress emails are sent through the hosting server. This is a bad idea as some email service providers don't like that. This is where a sending service comes in. You can use FluentSMTP and add a service you pay for like SendGrid (or something free with limits) and they are spam-compliant and recognized by email service providers. I never set up the emails to go through the hosting server because they can immediately get flagged.

John WatersΒ You bet! I only know this because I learned the hard way haha. Now I set up all my clients this way.

John WatersΒ It really depends on how many emails you plan to send. I build and support my websites so I make this part of my offering. I use SendGrid (sendgrid.com). It costs me about $21 USD per month, which I factor into my maintenance contracts.

But there are various other options like Google Workspace and Outlook integration, even some free SMTP services out there with limits. If you send a lot of emails, SendGrid is great. If you don't, I would look into a free SMTP service and I do not have any recommendations for the free tiers.

Hope that helps.
