Website Integration vs Stand Alone Community
It would be great to have the option for the FC wrapper the way it is now for people who want it, but in my ideal world for building things for clients, I know they're going to hate the way the Community section is so seperate.
Even if you allow pages INSIDE the community wrapper, then that just makes it even more work, in having to choose which pages appear inside, embedding, building new pages, etc.
Internal pages are great for memberships...
But there are a few other considerations...
- Using WPFusion to memberlock content already based on FluentCRM tags - there really isn't much of a need for 'internal' pages.
- The User Profile page is siloed off in such a way that they don't see their other account features - for example, past purchases in WooCommerce or something else (we use StudioCart), Bookings, Client Portals, Blog posts for community publications, etc etc. Not comparing to BBoss/press, but the User Profile was not siloed off there and it acted as the central space for a site user/member to see all their own account-related information.
- The cognitive taxation for people to remember what part of the site they're on is very high. Despite FC being very simple and easy to use, it still feels complex because users and admin have to remember where to go for this or that function/feature.
- For sites that need LearnDash - we don't need an integration INTO the FC wrapper - we need the FC features to integrate with the rest of the site.
Thank you much! It's incredible how fast the development is happening! Bought the highest tier.
One more thing - the description of the profile in FC still doesn't sync with the bio of the WP user.
Great insights; the profile is a huge piece. I like how they recently made the 'login url' an option; I'd like to see that when they get shortcodes for the 'posts,' 'spaces,' and 'comments' so they can be tabs on our existing profiles. It'll be a game changer.
There were many request already placed for embeding custom pages into the fCommunity but also the other way around (take fCommunity elements like: top menu and embed it in other places of our websites). So lets wait for the final solution - it might take some time as it was mentioned previously (but also in the webinar if I am not mistaken).
Adding Embed Custom WP Pages reelated link here so the fTeam can follow if needed.
