Vimeo and full screen?

I am wondering why my Vimeo embedded code for live streaming is being stripped for full screen view in my FC?
As you can see in the screenshots the embedded code contains fullscreen and just after inserting this the icon is also shown in the player in FC. But as soon as I post this the full screen is gone?!
Any advice is highly appreciated.

Vimeo and full screen? Vimeo and full screen? Vimeo and full screen?

I'd first check whether Fluent Community is sanitizing the Vimeo embed when the post is saved.

From what you're describing, the fact that the fullscreen button is visible immediately after inserting the embed but disappears after publishing makes me think that an iframe attribute such as allowfullscreen or part of the allow permissions may be getting stripped during sanitization.

So I'd suggest:

  • checking the Vimeo embed/privacy settings first, just in case there is a preset affecting fullscreen;
  • checking Fluent Community's embed/content settings;
  • and, if possible, inspecting the final iframe after publishing to see whether allowfullscreen or the fullscreen permission is still there.

If it disappears only after the post is saved, I'd probably open a ticket as well, because it may simply be the HTML sanitization rules removing that attribute.

And, slightly unrelated to the fullscreen issue..., one additional recommendation from experience: I'd seriously consider avoiding Vimeo for courses and creator businesses if you still have the option to choose another provider.

Honestly I think it is great. The problem is that many people never really paid much attention to the fine print around bandwidth consumption.

I've now had quite a few clients whose Vimeo accounts were effectively locked after exceeding the usage included in their plans, until they agreed to pay the additional bandwidth charges (not cheap!). In some cases, those unexpected bills were in the thousands of dollars.

I'd love to say they were isolated cases, but unfortunately I've seen it happen too many times.

It may never happen to you, of course. But one successful ad or campaign, a sudden spike in views or simply exceeding the quota of your subscription without noticing can potentially put you in that situation.

So I'm only mentioning it because, if you're still starting out or have the flexibility to change providers, for courses and content creators I personally prefer solutions with much more predictable bandwidth pricing.

Hope it helps!
