User placeholder
Hi,
I guess that for better security that would be safer to use WordPress user field 'nickname' instead of 'username' as a placeholder for members which starts with @xxxxxx. It also will allow users to change it at some point of time if needed.
But this is for your consideration of course.
+100 I am awaiting for this to happen one day where we will use a NickName or a BrandName but not the WP UserName. Even WP nativly gives the option to display different than username (wp-admin > Users > Profile) but for some unknown reason the UserName is being used in fCommunity.
Adding related link + link + link + link so the fTeam can follow if needed
For public fCommunity access display only nickName/brandName (alias for WP User Name) - don't display any other user details - also when user is mentioned (if possible).
Fluent Community already allows to change the username. What's the problem?
Rosvaldas NudasΒ Basically privacy concerns. Some people may not want to show the username containing their real name. Using the nickname field still permits the name to be modified without initially showing the person's name (it depends on how user is created though).
Not sure, but wouldnt that pose a security issue if display names could be changed to that of someone elses username that isnt taken within the community?
