UI suggestion for calender and messages

So while playing around with better messages, i found out they put the messages icon in the header. Which is where it should be considering how important it is to not miss those messages.

But then i thought about the event calender for which everybody is waiting so eagery.

The bottom bar is the perfect place to put the event calendar icon. Ofcourse with a menu item in the toggle menu.
