Tabbed content in FC course lesson

You may have missed it, but in case you want to add your own custom tabs inside a course lesson, you can do this way:

  1. Install FluentSnippets

  2. Download this code from my Dropbox:

  3. Create a new snippet and activate it.

  4. Go to your course lesson and just paste your shortcode: [custom_tabs]. Save it.

  5. Reload your lesson. VoilΓ ! FComm has no native provision for shortcodes in lessons, but renders them anyway.

Note: my native code pulls content from serveral custom SQL tables which is then populated across the tabs. I stripped all that from the code provided. The code snippet comes with CSS, which you will have to clean up, but the tabs look very similar to the FC default look.

Enjoy!

Thanks for sharing Helmar Rudolph, I have 3 questions:

  1. how does the tabs look on mobile?
  2. Can one have these tabs on the lock screen for public only to promote a course? and then for a logged in member to have the tabs appear differently for paid members?
  3. does your course progress bar also appear on mobile?

Helmar Rudolph

1 & 3 - see attachment.

2 . If the lock screen accepts html or a shortcode, then yes.

Morgan McArthur

Helmar RudolphΒ this is so cool, thanks for sharing! When FC does updates to their plugin could this effect the codes functionality/design or should be fine?

Helmar Rudolph

Morgan McArthurΒ only a pleasure. As it's plain HTML and CSS, no update should ever affect this, unless they block the rendering of shortcodes.
