Space Group reveals all spaces once a user joins just one space

There is an issue (or an unintuitive behavior) regarding how Space Groups handle space visibility in the sidebar menu.

Current Setup:

  • I have a Space Group with 37 spaces inside it.
  • In the Space Group settings, the option "Show Spaces even if the user is not a member of any space" is unchecked / disabled (as shown in the screenshot).
  • The intended behavior is to keep the navigation clean so users don't see unnecessary spaces in the sidebar.

The Issue / Bug:

  1. When a user is not a member of any space in this group, the group remains hidden or does not list the spaces, which is expected.
  2. However, as soon as a user joins just one single space within that group, all 37 spaces are immediately displayed in the sidebar under that group, including all the spaces the user has not joined.

Expected Behavior / Feature Request: Once a user joins a space, the sidebar should only display the specific spaces that the user has actually joined, rather than exposing every single space that belongs to that group.

Please either fix this logic so that unchecked visibility restricts the list to joined spaces only, or introduce a dedicated option:

  • "Show only the spaces the user is a member of"

Exposing dozens of unjoined spaces clutters the UI and defeats the purpose of keeping the group clean for the end-user.
