Public Spaces > Redirection of URLs

Hello mates,

Hopefully, one of the geniuses here can give me some hints on the likelihood of achieving this (if possible).

I would like to share a public space, gathering weekly posts that usually have the same structure.

  1. Title
  2. Description
  3. URL

I would like to have all this content of the posts publicly available, BUT, I would like to know if it will be possible to auto-redirect the URL to a custom URL or to trigger a pop up that asks for login/registration to the community if you try to access them without being logged in.

Use case: URLs (top value), will be only available to logged in members; SEO would not be affected because the real URL will be available to browser bots.

Would love to hear from you about this. And maybe you can also find it useful for your communities.

I have tried different approaches with custom snippets, and custom Java Scripts inside the portal. But sadly, I am not being able to achieve this.

Just being kind in a naive way....your picture could be a distraction in the offering of any solution to your requirement !!!

arjun arjun thank you Arjun!!

I really appreciate the intention behind your comment πŸ™

The visual choices in my posts are usually intentional. Different formats tend to surface differently in the feed, and sometimes a visual element helps initiate the conversation.

That said, the image isn’t part of the question itself (it’s just a conversation trigger). Most of the real thinking and testing happens privately with members, and I later bring the conclusions back to the public space when they can be useful for others as well.

Thanks again for taking the time to comment and engage thoughtfully. It’s genuinely appreciated.

You may have never commented in this post, and hey: here we are just because something different grabbed your attention :)

Jorge de los ReyesΒ If I am not mistaken, you must be a wonderful human being Jorge ... a modern day Gautam Buddha.

arjun arjunΒ Haha -coming from Arjun, I’ll take that as a friendly philosophical joke :)

Thanks, my friend.

We do this by creating two posts. One public post with a short excerpt and a Read More link at the end to the second, longer post inside a Private Group. We use Flowmattic for this.

Create Post -> Shorten Link -> Post to Private Group -> Create second short link to Private Group -> Post to Public Group.

SEO is preserved on public group post.
Public Group post link leads to Register to read post on private group.

Christian FrankΒ this is a really interesting approach Christian!

Thank you for sharing!
