PRIVATE SPACE ACCESS: We have just logged in from our demo account and requested access to the private space. Where do we get the access notification? So far there is nothing on the admin dashboard or email or message or popup.

Dan Go to Spaces (Top menu) > Members > Invitations

It is the same place from where you invited that new user.

Dan H

Not Important, nope nothing there requesting to join a Group or Space.

Mat β€Ž

Dan you need to go to Space Members not the fCommunity Members to check who has access to that Space (maybe the user was not added correctly - so you can see it from Space Members list):

https://domain.com/portal/space/YOUR---SPACE---NAME/members

Steps:

Go to Spaces from Top Menu > Select your Space card from the Spaces list below (click the name/text of that Space) > from the top right select: Members > click Add Member > either you add a member or send invitation > click View Inviations

Note: when you add a regular user to the Space from there you should see status: Invitation has been sent successfully. Then the user needs to click the link in the email and log to the fCommunity by clicking the link. Once this is completed you as the Super Admin or Community Admin will be able to see the users on the Space Members list:

https://domain.com/portal/space/YOUR---SPACE---NAME/members

Dan When you click Add Member the below screen you will see and once you complete the invitation process the user should be visible in the Members area (make sure that the Space you add the user is Public so you wont face any issues related to the Privacy - it might be not case here but just letting you know how to aviod first time contact with fCommunity).

Dan H

Not Important, Bro when there are 50 groups, without any notifications, you want the admin to open 50 spaces to see where someone has requested access? Doesn't make any sense.

Dan H

Not Important, Secondly, we are not adding any users to a space. The registered users are requesting permission to a space. Thirdly, the entire process is flawed and complicated. Just to approve a member access we have to do all of this? Doesn't work.

Mat β€Ž

Dan, that is why I suggest to create one Group with 3 Spaces and then test it out. I dont have 50 spaces and it is hard for me to answer that question. Once you test it out you can share your feedback what do you need in order to manage your structure with multi Groups and Spaces - it is not my case so it is hard to see what you see and what you want to achieve but it probably possible.

I am not sure if adding bulk users is implemented but I saw a post for migration tool from Buddy Press.

Dan H

Not Important, why would be adding members? You think we will have time to add members when we have 30k+ members?

Dan H

Not Important, yes this is what I am doing sharing my feedback. You need to build to scale because running communities is like a tsunami.

Mat β€Ž

Dan, I dont deal with 30k but yeah. If you have such a case scenarion than bulk upload, mass changes, user migration tool probably would be good for you.

As I suggest before. Its good to test this fCommunity with 2 Users and 1 Group and 3 Spaces rahter than start from a complicated structure. It is Beta testing so we have to deal on our own.

Mat β€Ž

Dan, I dont build this fCommunity - I am end user and trying to help with some answers. This tool is not 5 years old so I would not expect to have copy of other plugins etc.

All feedback is welcomed to the fTeam so share it and wait for the answer.
