PLEASE fix this. Losing members and may have to leave FC behind.

Hi, I have been using Buddyboss, Youzify and other community plugins to build community sites for years. Have had several that have been successful with large active memberships.

When FC came out I put a site together for testing purposes as it looked promising.

That site has started to get organic growth lately in the last week which has been great for user feedback. (sometimes as developers and site builders, we can get caught up in what we think needs attention rather than what actual members say needs attention!)

I get consistant feedback and all saying the same thing.

Have notified FC team and been told the developers will be told but then silence.

The issue is actauly causing members to give up on using a platform that runs on FC in the real world, so while being small, is actually serious and needs attention urgently.

I know if it is not fixed, I will most likely stick with other more developed community plugins and give up on FC as a useable option for now.

The main issue affects user engagment - or rather causes dissengagement.

MODEL VIEW needs to be for both LIST and TIMELINE views.

Currently it only works for Timeline view.

But why is this such an issue?

FEEDS in Spaces. The more posts they have, the more a user has to scroll down through them. With Timeline / Modal view, a user clicks a post and it opens as a popup, then after closing it, they are in the SAME place in the feed as they were.

In LIST view, Modal does not work. Click a post and it opens a new page and the user loses their place in the Feed. They then have to re-scroll through countless posts to find where they were. After doing this once or twice, THEY GIVE UP.

This is not hyperthetical, this is fact. Users give up on the site if LIST view is used.

So just use timelines view you might say...

Not possible.

If you or a user posts videos, which they are most likely to do.. some sites videos (dailymotion and others) will auto play on page load. With Timeline view, this can meen every post with a video might autoplay as a user scrolls through a feed in timeline. I tried this and have had 20+ videos all start playing and play over each other using Timeline view. The result? Rahter than change to List view users just simply close the site. It looks and sounds BROKEN. They give up.

So List view is the only useable optiont to prevent this.

But, then the main feed will only show Timeline by default!!!

Even if you as admin set all your other feeds to List view by default, the main one cant be changed.

FC is not. actualy useable in a real world site due to this.

Might sound like a small thing, but it has a HUGE impact on users. They litteraly are telling me they cant use the site, or it is broken due to these 2 small things.

So, I cannot use FC on an actual live site until these things are fixed.

Please put a hold on Fluent Cart, Fluent Event whatever additional functions you are working on and fix the base model with these 2 issues. They are breaking the core useability of FC.

All this is from actual live user feedback, not my 'wishlist'.

My FC project is on hold until fixed and if I continue getting user interest in it I will probably convert it to an alternative platform .

Please release a patch to address these 2 things.

1 - Modal view for Timline AND List view.

2 - Option to make main feed List view by default.
