Playing with Fluent Community, so far so good. Impressive bit of work. This is a few killer features required to make this take off (again this list will grow over time).
-
Allow a User to Request membership to communities, and then an admin can reject or approve the person (some community implementations are not open).
-
Each space of Community should be allowed to have one or more Community Admins. This person can add people that are part of the community echo system to be added to that community or space.
-
Allow the Space or Community to remove improper posts (not to censor...but of that post or person truly goes against the guidelines.
-
If an implementation is moved to a different server (perhaps separating functionality out of a website or due to more fire power required)...allowing for easy import / export of people, configurations, roles, posts, memberships etc.

Currently I only see 'Community' as a menu item. It would be good to have the ability to add to the top level menu where there is a clear difference between community types. People should be added to top level menu first. Then individual community or space owners can add in people that request to join a space or community.
+1 Bruce, these are excellent suggestions.
OK...I poked around and was able to add additions to Community, so for my site these are various different business areas. Now....I will test if I can remove the original 'Communities' menu option
