One feature that would be nice to add is the ability for members to change their community "@" username. I noticed that it can be altered for admins, but not for members, and I suspect I would get requests for that when I open my community to my audience.
I just tried changing my @ username and now my profile won't load. I get this error. Lol
@UsersName self chagnes should be limited for security purposes but also depend on plugin version (Free/Paid).
ablility to change x times @userName on forum (lets give such a change even 1 lifetime or 1 a year (creating a new separate account only for Community would be a case if the current account would be connected to our main account - in this case WPMANAGENINJA account). @UserNames should be filtered against list of keywords or regex rule that we are not allowed to create - example: admin, root and maybe only paid members could assign @PremiumUserName without lets say numbers. etc.

We could just separate user identity and add a new one fluentUserAliasName. Only fluentUserAliasName could be @mentioned or searched or anywhere else in fCommunity/Portal.
In that case we would hide the original WPUserName from the audiance and bad actors.
fluentUserAliasName could be changed by a user (Pro vs Free limits) and we cpu;d keep the root identity without any "userNames leaks" especially if those users = all our customers.
Admins could always track the core WPUserName by matching fluentUserAliasName with WPuserName. \
If fluentAlias idea is good then it also should be implemented for SpacesNames so we could also changed them (/slugs = /fAliasSpaceName) but also we could call all users by using @fBoardAliasName (where @everybody in each Space is linked to @fBoardAliasName).
Not Important Agreed. Right now, the way my site is set up, the username is essentially the email address (without the @email.com at the end). Maybe that's the default for most sites? Either way, I don't think everyone would want the main part of their email address to be their username, plus a lot of people would likely want to personalize it.
Nicole Young, Fully Agree. Nobody wants to share or see someone email username (especially if using business email address = probably some login name somewhere else). I think fTeam will or even is working on this. Let`s see but in a meantime lets share our ideas so fCommunity can be simply but awesome.
Nicole Young,Mine was showing my WordPress username and not my email. But I also didn't want to expose my username so I changed it to something else.

So if a user would not have the possibility to choose or change later his userName which is his inbox-name and if such a user would use a business email during registration and published his company name or website/domain then we could easily guess his full business email address.
Example: During my user registration I used email: [email protected] then everybody could see the first part of my email. But if in my Public Profile I add my website: www.awesomeCompany.com then some smart asses like we are could get the Business Email for that person and probably we could scrap all user emails this way for spammy purposes.
Even if a user provided @gmail.com email while registering we could easily try to guess the email address just by taking the userName from here and add randomly domains like @gmial.com @outlook.com and check if such a user name is available on social media etc.
So we all know is that @userNames for fCommunity cannot be just taken from the email address ;) because sooner or later it could/will be a problem.
