Notifications
Hi, it would be great if the user could receive an email notification when they have received a chat message. I don't see this option available at the moment and don't see the option to create an automation in FluentCRM:
Adding also request for:
- bulk delete Chat Messages (Clean Up icon - delete all messages) from on user
- remove or delete (if there are no Chat messages from the user end) selected users from the left sidebar if we are no longer want to have long list and/or user converstaion was added by mistake
- edit messages
- sound notification when there is a new Chat messages
- improve UI for Mobile Users - typing a message on mobile is difficult (cannot see the message text field)
List of improvements for Chat is really long...
Thomas, this sounds like a great idea! That said, I do have some reservations about the potential flood of emailsβit can really clutter up an inbox quickly. If you're referring to private messages, I understand that they don't currently generate email notifications, which might be a good thing in this case.
To me, the core purpose of this app is to encourage regular engagement. If you snooze, you lose, right?
Now, imagine being the author of a post with, say, 10,000 users. If even just 1,000 of them reply, thatβs 1,000 emails hitting your inbox. If all 10,000 decided to respond, the chaos would be unimaginable!
This feature could work wonderfully for smaller teams or companies, but scaling it might pose challenges. Without a robust email delivery system in place, I foresee some issues cropping up.
Ryk MelckΒ Yes, I'm talking about private messages similar to Facebook. My client is a personal fitness coach and when his members message him he would like a notification. The issue with receiving too many emails could be resolved with a simple checkbox for the user indicating if they wish to receive email notifications for personal chat messages.
We will add chat message email notifications as well, but they will not be real-time; instead, we will send notifications on an hourly or daily basis.
Shahjahan JewelΒ The sooner the better. Why not real-time?
Thomas HallmanΒ It should not be real-time, as the user may automatically see the message within 1 hour. Also if want to cast the emails on real-time, we have to cast thousands on emails for a large community which is not optimal. We will try to find an optimal solution like email only for the personal messages, send email if the last activity of the target user is greater than 1 hour etc.
Shahjahan JewelΒ Yes. I am referring to just personal messages. If someone messages me, for example, I would like to know about it via my email (because everyone carries a phone) rather than having to log into the site to see if someone sent me a message every time.
Thomas HallmanΒ understood. Again, we should make it configurable and the admin should choose how it should work.
