Monetization for public spaces
I have two scenarios in mind for FluentCommunity, which, as far as I understand, are not possible today. Both scenarios need public spaces, visible to anyone visiting a website, but editable only for people who paid for their space. I think of specified areas, like a job board where freelancer can react, also allowing to present themselves. Scenarios like these two:
Scenario 1
Job board. Offering paying members to create job offerings or job requests. Both should be visible to anyone visiting the website, but only be editable by the user himself (and the admin for the site, of course).
Scenario 2
Portfolio pages for paying members. I know many developers, who have no proper website. Let's say they would pay a yearly subscription, then gain access to create a space to present themselves.
Does this resonate and make sense?
This sounds to me more like a directory than a community?
Not quite, though I get your point. What I intend to create is a community where certain spaces can be monetized, yet everything is open to read to all visitors of a site. Because FluentCommunity is a community, and because of its simple setup, it would eliminate the need for multiple plugins.
For scenario 2 Portfolios, I see the difficulty in who will be shown first in the results.
If there were options to pay for advertising to appear in the top positions in FCommunity, it would be viable.
