Monetization, Banner ads and other ads placements
This fluent plugin should have monetization, where you run banner ads and so on, that's the only thing left for this project to be perfect.

Jonathan Gwyer thank you, but I was referring to Google ads or Facebook ads and others, running on your fluent community plugin. Is it possible for ads like Google ads be displayed on this plugin?
wilson eberechi I believe you can put any html in the widgets you like... but I don't run ads so don't know for sure.
But it's free and works well, so give it a go 😊
Jonathan Gwyer thank you, but I'm talking about banner ads displaying on your feeds after 1 or 2 posts. Like you can see a banner ads displaying properly. And for the widget, how did you put html in the widget and it's starts showing ads please?
There are several WP plugins out there that can be used to run banner ads etc as a way to monetize the platform. Might require a little php coding to get the shortcodes to appear where you need them in FC, but its doable. I am in the process of researching this now as I would like to add community sponsorship packages that includes add space once I launch and grow to a certain point.
Jason Soper I tried many plugins, tried to add some lines of code into FC but it's difficult to work properly. Have you tried something like that and did it work the way you wanted it to?

wilson eberechi I played around with it briefly and it seems to be working (quickly set up a simple banner to see if I could get it to show up where I wanted it). I tested with the Advanced Ad plugin. Created a plugin that took the shortcode of the ad banner, inserted it below the desired div element of the space using the portal_footer hook.
Jason Soper could you tell me step to steps on where the portal_footer hook is found and where the feeds is also found? I would like to know where it's located please, cause I couldn't find them

Ross FCA Thank you. I'm talking about adding ads on fluent. If you access quora, you could see they display ads, and the ads also shows when using mobile. Ads should display inside a post, may be after the image of a post and ads should also display on the feeds, may be after 2 posts then banner ads. I'm talking about Google AdSense or any AdSense to display. The ads manager should have configuration where I can turn it on/off, where to insert them after header, after 1 or 2 posts, inside a post and so on
Oooo, Ross FCA , I too am in need of an ads manager, and I'm absolutely delighted you're working on one! I was thinking I was going to have to attempt to code one myself, but I'm a rank beginner (albeit a stubborn persistent one ;-) ), so if you're working on one ...whine, grovel....
Here are my requirements:
I want my community members who have Role "1" to be able to create a single ad at any given time.
I need to be able to control how large the ads are, in pixels (or ems/rems).
I need to be able to display the members' ads using a shortcode and using a widget (on pages and/or in the sidebar).
The members need to be able to select a color for the background of their ad, and they need to be able to ad text and an image.
The members need to be able to preview what their ad will look like.
The members need to be able to schedule, edit, pause, and delete their ads themselves.
Role "2" members need to be able to create ads the same as Role "1" members, but I need to be able to charge Role "2" members for their ads.
Role "2" members need to be able to choose between paying for a certain number of clicks or for a certain interval of time their ad will be displayed.
A Role "2" member needs to be able to name an affiliate, so that the affiliate gets credit for having sold the ad to the Role "2" member (and this needs to integrate with FluentAffiliate).
I know this is a lot to ask...but, well...you asked! lol

Ross FCA will this ad manager be as simple as to run ones own ads within the FluentCommunity i.e promote ones own courses?
How would the ads work for mobile where mobile version does not have side widgets to display ads in

Matthew John Alex I've resolved the banner ads, the only issue I'm still figuring is placing add on feeds. Like after two posts then ads displays. And ads displays inside a post after first paragraph
wilson eberechi I think fluent has a publicly available hooks that can make that possible.
Matthew John Alex what are the hooks? For (header, footer and sidebar) => fluent community_header, fluent community_footer and fluent community_sidebar. So please what are the hooks for displaying ads after 2 posts and inside a post?
wilson eberechi to achieve this, you have to figure out how fluent serve feeds. It’s all js.
Best bet is to stick with header and footer ads - auto ads and just limit the numbers.
For banner ads. It can come as a post just like x (Twitter)

Stéphane Giguère I think I just got my first breakthrough on it, I displayed Google ads on a fluent community.
The positioning, I’ve not gotten to - but showing Google ads ? Yes !.
It will need some time to setup a complete plugin that would also allow local advertiser - banner etc.
