Members: Search by Custom Field

Just coming back here to refresh the idea of adding an enhancement to the current search filter of members.

If only we can add some extra info to the profile, I think we could have a really nice search feature that will allow us to search by custom fields: like profession, industry, keywords on the BIO...

Just an idea I shared here a couple of months ago, and that I think could be really useful and differentiating for niche communities.

Use cases:

• If I am a member of a Creators community...

  • search by content topic.
  • look for sponsors.
  • Businesses looking for sponsoring...
  • Audience....

Just make the search bar, something, we can actually ship as a nice feature / directory.

It actually something quite valuable of a community.

But currently un-shippable as a handy feature.

I think that an enhancement on the Onboarding (set your profile...) + members search bar could create a really nice feature for any community.
