Link previews not working
At some point, link previews have stopped working on posts in my community. I can see them for older posts, but now when people post a weblink, it just shows the link with no preview.
Works on my site.
Does the link point to an external site or an internal page?
I’m asking because I’ve noticed that the preview doesn’t work when the link points to an internal page and there’s already a hyperlink in the text.

D@vid I'm trying to troubleshoot a bit more. It seems to be hit or miss. Some weblinks will have previews and some won't. I'm stumped. I have users posting news articles from various sources and they don't seem to ever get a preview link. I have been testing with a couple of weblinks to my other websites. One of the links never gets a preview, while the other gets a preview about 90% of the time.
Patrick Anderson I’ve also observed the same (random) issue. Sometimes, by recreating the same post, the preview works when it didn’t before. I even ran tests using different browsers and private browsing (without plugins). But for my latest posts, it works.
D@vid The random part is the hardest. I'm trying to figure out why it doesn't work sometimes and does other times. I've been disabling firewall and caching plus anything else I can think of. Really difficult to pin down.
Patrick Anderson I even tried disabling the VPN.
I also noticed that when you copy a web link and then completely remove it from your post, if you enter text in the same place, the text then adopts the hyperlink you just deleted. 🤔
Did you ever get to the bottom of this. I just experienced the same issue but wondering if it has more to do with the site you're linking to and how they have their open graph tags setup.
