Just for clarification (so i get this right): when i choose access for logged in users, then everyone that has the portal link and is a wordpress user on my site could access the community regardless of whether this user got access to the community via FluentCRM or not.
So if i just want certain wordpress users have access to the community i need to use the wordpress role feature atm, correct?
Currently you can set who can access to the community. So
- Public: Everyone gets access
- Logged-in Users: All logged-in users (regardless of their role)
- Role-Based: Only selected roles will get access
We will add FluentCRM Tag based access where you can set, if anyone of the selected tags are available in the connected contact then they can get access.
Manuel Müller WP-Admin role for your regular users needs to be: Subscriber. If current WP users will have any role that allows them to Edit in WordPress then if those users will be added to fCommunity they will have the same access as Admin.
To simplify the above. You should have all WP users with: Subscriber role and if you approve them in your fCommunity (you also can decide to not approve them in fCommunity) they will have access with the fCommunity role which can be: a Regular user role or elevated fCommunity role like: Community Admin, Community Manager, Courses Teacher.
If you select option: only logged users can access fCommunity then the Community (/portal) is accessible by WP users only with the access limits (non WP users when they access /portal url they will only see the login form but not any Public content from Public Spaces) of the above explanation - no matter if you added that user with:
- FluentCRM automation
- Manually added WP user with the Subscriber role
- User was invited by you or your users in the fCommunity (if they have such a permission)
If you don't want to give your current WP users (Subscribers) to access fCommunity then you don't invite and approve them in the Community (unless they have Admin role in WP-Admin then they are a Super Users in fCommunity and they can do whatever they want there).
ps. You can check what will happen if you have am existing WP-Admin user with role that allows the user to edit in the regular WP - check if you need to approve this user in fCommunity or if the user automatically will get "Super Admin" access in fCommunit.
