Join Link Showing When It Shouldn't?
OK, talk me off a ledge here. π Not sure if I'm doing something dead wrong.
I have a group (or space) that I want to be publicly viewable, but I do not want people to be able to request to join and I do not want people not members to be able to reply to anything. They can only view.
So, the group is set to PUBLIC, but the checkbox to enable people to request to join is NOT checked. Yet, when I log in as another user, this group has the JOIN button sitting there at the top.
Why is this happening?
I am running the newest version (1.8.3) released today.
Shahjahan JewelΒ Just tagging ya here to ensure it is noticed. Don't know what the procedure here is. This might be a bug, but not sure.
All I know is... I had somebody who was able to "Join" their way right into a customers-only group this morning and it caused some confusion. π
I agree - the Join button should not appear if "Allow users to request to join this Space" is not ticked, no matter what the Privacy setting is on the space. "Public" should not override this.
It would also be useful to have a "read only" space setting, so that it can be publicly visible but only space members can post or comment.
You can hide the join button in most places with CSS, but I'm sure I've had this argument over whether or not this is a bug before!
Jonathan GwyerΒ What I need to know is if this behavior is what everybody else sees too. If it is, then I can act accordingly. But, my problem is.... I don't know if this is a bug or not.
David RisleyΒ I can confirm - I see the same behaviour, which I agree is a bug.
