Ryan Alier I was in your shoes about 5 years ago. This is worth every dime. I'm currently using Gridpane but checking this offer out. But once you use a dashboard like this where they're building stacks, putting config settings behind easy UI—it's freaking awesome.

kyler boudreau I can tag someone who migrated 100s of sites recently from Gridpane to xCloud. Tagging Donald McGuinn here to share his experience.

kyler boudreau i migrated from GP self hosted to xCloud Managed Servers. Night and day difference when it comes to the amount i was paying even though with GP, i was using my own servers. I have MORE servers managed with xCloud and my hosting bill got cut in half.

Moving away from GP, i knew i did not want to manage my own servers. It became was too much for me and it wasn't worth it. So i took this time to restructure my entire hosting service and migrated all my sites over to xCloud, spread them across 17 servers (instead of the 10 i had before). I manually migrated each one with Migrate Guru. I chose this instead of the full server migrate because i needed to get some DNS fixed in there too. Having xcloud manage my cloudflare DNS now makes a world of difference.

The dashboard in xCloud is better, settings are nicely laid out with descriptions on each, as opposed to GP where it was really built for the developers out there who reallyyyy know what they are doing. (me but not me)

Plus with their awesome affiliate system, and I am able to add myself as a team member on my clients hosting who choose not to host with me, makes it so easy to earn money too.

Long story short lol, it was WELL worth the move. Once I was on a roll, I was migrating 10 sites per hour with Migrate Guru and I migrated about 146 websites.

As far as performance, their servers run on VULTR which is great and you can choose your specs for the server. Combine that with redis, object cache and cloudflare edge, and sites are super speedy. (GP has redis and object as well)

Donald McGuinn thanks so much for all of this info. So you're actually having them manage your servers...got it. So what I've enjoyed about GP is the amount of work they put into their stacks. And when they release a new one (like the recent Ubuntu 24.x) I was able to clone to it with ease at a server level (not upgrading obviously but a full server clone with new stack).

I see xCloud has many of the other things I'm used to like Cloudflare, 7G, etc. So from what you're seeing, do you think the xCloud stack on Vultr is performing as good as the Gridpane stack on Vultr?

Random question: if I spin up a Vultr server with xCloud and then 6 months down the road have to upgrade hardware due to biz growth, is there anything in this control panel that assists with updating nginx/php configs to better support the new hardware or is it better to spin up a brand new server with the new specs to the config is dialed in?

Donald McGuinn i'm in the same situation, have GP Dev+ LTD @ $1000 annually, but that is still a lot for nothing new from GP in a few years. Maybe a few new features, but nothing like what xCloud has been doing in recent months. I may chalk up the loss of the recurring Dev+ LTD which I paid $2000 and $1000 annually (now twice) for a total of $4K. i know I never recouped most of that, but even at $499 XCloud LTD for 7 servers, I'll break even this year :) crazy. plus the dashboard like you mentioned is far superior to GP, RunCloud, etc that I've used as well.

Jeff Tincher I'm also in your situation. Have an LTD at GP. So...help me out: What features does xCloud offer to make you wanna switch? I'm also on the LTD Relay offering, and hesitant to let go of that. But not against it. So any features you're focused on would help clear the fog for me too. GP has been flawless for me for 5+ years. If I left them and ran into issues, I'd put a gun to my head. But at the same time, I'd love to save money and anything WP Manage Ninja gets involved in makes the competition look pathetic. So I'm wondering if that will happen here.

Donald McGuinn hey man, another question: You know how on GP we're never patching servers and such. They handle all of that. kyler boudreau I'm kinda done with GP since nothing knew comes out, same empty promises, and I don't use the relay and barely use any of my fortress licenses. I've had more headaches with sure using fortress that I just stopped installing it.

Don't get me wrong, GP support is great! Platform works flawlessly, and I haven't had any issues in 5 years myself.

I just really think xcloud is going places, not just WordPress managed, and the dashboard is modern unlike GP dated and bad UI dashboard.

I also didn't want to keep renewing my Dev+ Ltd at $1000 annually which basically gives me enterprise level features that none of my client servers and sites really need.

Jeff Tincher right on man. I just made the leap. Got an LTD license and gonna start migrating sites off GP tomorrow. Even the file manager in this is so nice. That's been on the GP roadmap for like 4 years. So I see what you're saying about updates. And Fortress—I disabled that too. Hahaha. It was timing out all my Fluent Community members. Drove me crazy. But like said, 5+ years of solid performance, but I trust WP Managed Ninja. So here we go.

1. As xCloud is using AWS LAMDA serverless architecture for its own platform that's why we couldn't provide a specific ip address which you could allow from your vps provider end such as VULTR etc. But, we have managed an workaround for this. This will be deployed soon. If you are still using us you will be definitely getting this notification as soon as we release that.

2. Credit Card Required Issue: We have many users who have taken LTD to manage their own server and also using our servers with monthly billing. That's why our architecture was like that before. But if you are still interested we can even bypass this for you.

Sean Drubo hey man, do they apply security patches to their stack automatically? I'm NOT talking about the managed server option. But the LTD plan where you spin up your own Vultr boxes. Who maintain the LEMP stack on the Vultr servers? Is that up to the owner or is there anything automated from xCloud?

and that is my problem in understanding the cost structures of this LTD, because the ONLY PRICING visible on the XCloud site is the cost per server, no separate XCloud service fees.

which is why the only conclusion I was able to make is the cost of XCloud services are either:

(a) not disclosed in a clear and understandable way;

or

(b) they are baked into the pricing per server.

if the answer is B, then the value of the deal is only a 10% discount on monthly rates with no savings on XCloud services themselves.

Erik Goldring If you connect your own VPS provider Like GCP, Hetzner then xCloud will not charge in management fee monthly if you take LTD and as long as you have LTD balance. Suppose you took 50 LTD server plan. Then you can manage 50 LTD servers and no monthly charge as you have paid one time for them. Your next server 51th number will be charged $5 monthly again.
You can stack up LTD plans as many as you want. That means you can purchase two 50LTD plans and your balance will be 100.

Moreover, our founders wanted to provide more extra to our loyal LTD users. That's why they introduced xCloud Provider (with 10% discount). We do not give any discounts on our hosting/servers. Shifat Hossain The way you are describing this makes it sound like there is no additional cost if you manage your own servers. I don't want to manage my own servers.

What I need is managed servers, so let's break it down please.

If I purchase a 7 server LTD for $499 I get 7 servers. Then I choose 7 instances of the monthly XCloud Provider plan for $4.50. That would result in a monthly bill of $31.50.

If I don't purchase a LTD license and I choose 7 instances of XCloud Managed Servers my monthly bill would be $35.00. What are the extra fees for using XCloud's management panel to manage those 7 servers? Are there any additional costs?

The only value presented so far is I get a discount of 50 cents on each monthly charge, but there has been NO BREAKDOWN OF XCLOUD'S FEES other than the monthly managed server costs.

What economic savings are we getting besides that discount by purchasing a LTD?

Shifat Hossain OK thank you. Since I'd only need managed servers, this LTD literally offers almost no value at all to someone like me.

At most would save me a few dollars a month which doesn't justify this offering.

It may be a good deal then for people who are managing their own VPS, but you have frankly provided too small an incentive for users of managed servers to spend this money upfront when we can just spin up servers as we need them.

Honest feedback. The XCloud website is completely vague and unhelpful in its pricing information. It should be explicitly stated that XCloud's tools are provided at no extra cost when you pay for something like a monthly XCloud Manager server.

It shouldn't have been so difficult for me to get these answers. I'm not mad about it, but I am sharing this as constructive criticism that your pricing explanations are not clean and explicit and should be more upfront when making these LTD offers.

Ask yourself: would you spend $499 to save $3 a month?

The proposition for managed server users makes zero sense.

1. xCloud will def replace CloudPanel for management.
2. You'll need to setup new servers.
3. See what Donald did above more migrating.
4. You can have Vultr backups or configure and "off site" S3 bucket or whatever.

Shifat Hossain Thanks! Couple more questions...when using xCloud Provider servers that are hosted at Vultr, do you get to choose the server location? Am I correct that if I have a 3cx VoIP server at Vultr and eventually one or two Windows servers, I would need to keep them setup and paid through Vultr instead of somehow managing them inside xCloud?

Ryan Alier this is a great question. For example, the upcoming patchstack, etc.

Ryan Alier all the core updates will be included to the LTD users. But 3rd party addons where 3rd party providers like patchstack charge money will not be included.

For example: one click app installations like n8n, laravel etc will be included.

I still have some sites on Hostingers cloud hosting plan, and I will eventually be making the switch to all VPSs only. Havnt done it yet just since it all was paid for a few years ago in advance.

I'm caught up now with which VPS provider I want to stick with, whether thats XCloud, or others. I have some IONOS VPSs for some personal sites and tools.

Since I have been with Hostinger for so long, I am figuring I might use a Hostinger VPS, but then I am torn in that case and wondering why not just use something like Coolify on top of Ubuntu and manage that way.

The XCloud provider LTD will see its value after around the 1.5 year mark, so I would like to ensure I am taken care of until then, and then beyond.

Lots of considerations going on in my brain.

xCloud offers both hosting like Rocket and Server Management as a control panel to manage servers from GCP, AWS etc. Also, in xCloud there is no limitation on the site creation as long as you have resources.

The LTD is mainly for the control panel where our users bring their own servers and manage in xCloud. The regular price is $5 per month for each server. So, instead they pay us one time. The LTD packages are like bundles, i.e if anyone buys 7 server deal two time the total LTD balance is 14.

As mentioned above, we also have Hosting like Rocket but we are VPS Hosting. We do not have site limit. Our regular server pricing starts from $5 and depends on server size.

Michael Fidelis I think people that haven't used services like Gridpane are getting confused with this. If you want a sweet control panel with a stack tuned for WP, easy server and site deployment, cloning, etc then you want the LTD. If you do not want any server management tasks, then you're after their other service.

I look at it this way, i have 5 servers (mix of monthly Vultr and Racknerd LTD Annual) that I can migrate to xcloud. without the LTD my cost for managing the 5 servers (with let's say 30-50 sites across all) would run $300 annually. In 2 years I cover my investment in the 7 server LTD which is $499. I still pay Vultr, but if I can get 10% off vultr pricing then that saves some too :) this is a great looking offer.
