Introducing FluentAuth 2.0 (maybe you never heard of this)

I’m a code freak, and built a ton of plugins, many of which never see the light of day. I call these my weekend projects, just fun stuff I work on in my spare time. FluentAuth was one of those, but I decided to publish it last year!

FluentAuth is all about keeping your login and sign-up pages secure, plus adding some key features to protect your site. It’s the only security plugin we use on all our own sites.

Yesterday, I launched FluentAuth 2.0, packed with new features and improvements I truly believe every site needs. Think nice, friendly emails for sign-ups and password resets, automatically scans to check for core file changes, and even social logins. Plus, we’ve got essentials like limiting login and sign-up attempts, magic email logins, and more.

My whole team’s on holiday right now, so I recorded a quick video to walk you through it. It’s a little awkward, sorry about that, but it’ll give you a clear picture of what FluentAuth can do and why it’s so powerful.

Best of all, it’s 100% free and open source. no ads, no upsells. I could've made these 2.0 features a premium thing, but my marketing team would probably have my head! They’re already over-loaded with other projects, past and present. 😅

Hope you love it as much as I do! Give it a try and let me know what you think.

Enjoy! 😉

I can't see the video at my client's site, but I'm looking forward to checking this out when I get home. Thanks for the update.

Great!

Please add more login via Telegram in the future)

Amazing plugin

Shahjahan Jewel  I don't understand why support translation but not support important String like "Login with Google" which is the button for user to choose action?

> Additionally: Missing integrate add automatically to FluentCommunity space.

This is wonderful! As coding in my free time, I can't express how dope this plugin is! And for Free?!? Man you are HIM Jewel.

Jonathan Gwyer

Great to see the updates.

Feature request Shahjahan Jewel 🙂 It would be great if the magic link email could also include a six-digit code or similar (or configurable) so that if I'm using a different computer to normal, I can request the code, read it on my mobile, and type it in on the computer.

This is what Magic Login Pro can do and (ahem) SureCart does.

Jonathan Gwyer damnnn them fightin words...

Eric Jones

This is very cool. Shahjahan Jewel does it play well with WordFence? i've been looking for something that plays nicely with this tool and have had a hard time.

Eric Jones it didn't for me unfortunately. I had to disable both loginizer and wordfence otherwise people couldn't login. It already does a better job than loginizer on its own, but I would like to enable wordfence again for security.

Eric Jones

Antonios Triantafyllakis, good to know. What issues besides not being able to log in did you experience with Wordfence? Are you on the free or pro plan (I have both)?

Eric Jones only login issues. People had their IP blocked and couldn't login at all. The forget password option also didn't anything (even though they were using the correct password). Free version of wordfence but pro on FluentCommunity. Disabling wordfence fixed it.

Antonios Triantafyllakis Is this with this new 2.0 version? I have the 1.x version of FluentAuth working fine with Wordfence. I might have had to disable a few things on one side or the other to make them compatible, but our users can definitely log in.

Screenplay Unlimited I haven't changed anything after the update, so I can try re-enabling wordfence and see if it works fine now.

Congrats!

I really like FluentAuth, as all the fluent products, but sadly a feature lacking in it makes me using Nextend Social Login for the social logins. What nextend has is a hook you can use that when someone opens an account via any social login, after he granted fluentauth access on that social app he is obviously redirected back to the site, BUT before the user is created a custom page is shown to the user asking him to accept terms of use (and you can also ask for more details as you wish, I ask for a phone number).

This feature is a must for me because I have to know any new user accepted the terms of use and have a record of this. Although the social app (google for instance) shows the sites terms of use the phrasing is that you may review it and not that you accept it! So that's not enough legally.

Hope you could add this feature and I'll gladly move to FluentAuth.

Assaf Manor Nextend Social Login is a great plugin.

Luis Minvielle

by the way I use fluentsnippet another of your jewels

This is an awesome update! Shahjahan Jewel, I checked the documentation. Do you have recommended settings / excludes for users on Cloudflare and LiteSpeed Cache (or another caching plugin)? I used FluentAuth previously, but the Magic Link auth failed frequently. I believe the cause was due to caching, but I was unsuccessful identifying the right exclusions.

Bret Carmichael I had the same issue on Rocket.net, and that's the reason why I couldn't use the magic link either, at least with the 1.x version of FluentAuth

Caleb Durant

Could you add SSO ?

D@vid

Hi,
I'm looking for the translation strings, but I can't find them.
Thanks for your help.

D@vid Should be available on the translation files.

D@vid

Thanks. If you're talking about FluentAuth, I did update it yesterday and made sure to handle the translation file (including syncing it). I also tried a manual update. Is this indeed within FluentAuth?

D@vid Check on real page. Maybe in the preview we have hard codes strings. (not sure).

D@vid

Shahjahan Jewel

I'd like to check the frontend form, but the only one I see (even when it's deactivated) is the F.C. one at this address: ?fcom_action=auth&form=register

Is there a shortcode or a specific URL for it?

Thanks (no rush, you can sleep :))

Best ♥️

Ryk Melck

I love this Plugin.

Tim Olukayode

Shahjahan Jewel Wow, really nice features. Kudos. I will be so happy if you can consider this. Page Builder widgets. FluentAuth working with Page Builder. Using Elementor to style the form and add to custom page for example. Please really consider this feature please.

Tim Olukayode you can use shortcode and use little css to style and make it your own.

My company don’t pay me for this project so have to rely on weekends 😂

Tim Olukayode

Shahjahan Jewel I will explore the shortcode. Totally understand.

jane lawson

It looks great! So currently, I use User Registration Pro and would like to move over to Fluent Auth. Is there a way to toggle Show/Hide password on the login form?

Blaine Moore

Great updates! For future feature requests, would love to see TOTP integration (rather than just 2FA through email), as well as passkeys.

Do you allow push requests w/new features?

Shahjahan Jewel That's a fantastic update, thanks for the video, I can't wait to test this new version and implement in our production site (we've been using 1.x for a long time now and we love it).

I'm very happy to see two features that I suggested a long time ago (customizable emails and customizable login/register), so thanks a lot for implementing these. I can't wait to uninstall the plugins we had to use for that 😀

One feature that would be very useful for membership sites would be to implement in fluentauth an option to block simultaneous logins, in order to prevent credentials sharing. You could provide an option to either block any simultaneous login, or to log out any user already logged in with the same credentials in another browser, so that a user can only be logged in once at a time. We currently use a separate login for that (loggedin), and it works very well, but it would be great to have this integrated in fluentauth.

Thanks again for the update, and keep up the good work! 👍

Screenplay Unlimited block simultaneous logins, in order to prevent credentials sharing will be an awesome update!

Paulo Beneton

Jorge de los Reyes This feature to use in Fluent Community would be fantastic.

Olex Lipinski

Unfortunately, the plugin does not replace emails to new user in the multisite installation. Is it possible to fix this with an extra code?

Rafael Piton

Shahjahan Jewel Is it possible to prevent the default CSS of the login screen and use only the FluentCommunity ?

William Beem

Rafael Piton Do you mean avoid the default WordPress login screen and only use FluentCommunity? If so, yes.

Sophia S

This is indeed great Shahjahan Jewel,

I'm wondering is it possible to customize the colors to meet the login custom colors especially for the buttons?

Wil Brown

Could it support Google Authenticator?

finally ver. 2.0, that's a very good plugin for those who don't want to install bloatware or heavy plugins

Dave Safley

Ah yes! I will check it out, Thanks for your passion of code, product, support and services - Top Shelf! Keep Going Shahjahan Jewel

Shahjahan Jewel Feature Suggestion: Support for Welcome Videos on Login/Register Pages (FluentAuth + FluentCommunity)

First of all — huge congrats on the amazing work with FluentAuth 2.0 and FluentCommunity. These tools are lightweight, well thought out, and a joy to use. I have a suggestion that could enhance both plugins even further — especially for creators, educators, and community builders.

🧠 Idea:

Add an option to embed a welcome or onboarding video directly on the login/register page — for both FluentAuth and FluentCommunity.

💡 Why It’s Useful:

The login page is often the first interaction users have with your site — and it’s frequently revisited.

A short, embedded video can:

  • Build connection and trust with users
  • Onboard new members with clarity
  • Explain next steps or community rules
  • Highlight promotions, courses, or events

This is especially powerful for:

  • Membership sites
  • Online courses
  • Private communities
  • SaaS dashboards or client portals

🔧 Feature Ideas:

  • Toggle to enable/disable video block
  • Support YouTube/Vimeo embeds or self-hosted videos
  • Placement options: above form, below form, or in a sidebar
  • Optional headline or welcome message

I’ve seen some SaaS products use this really effectively — and it adds a personal, branded touch that’s simple yet powerful. 👉Here is an example link: https://app.omnisend.com/login

Would love to see this become part of the Fluent ecosystem. Thanks for building tools that help creators thrive 🙌

Shahjahan Jewel sha It will be great if you have more integrate with FluentCommunity:

  1. Webhook after register.
  2. Native integrate with FluentCommunity for auto add spaces and course after register.
  3. Whitelist domain to register. For example, only email with gmail.com can register.

BTW, your new Facebook sign up/sign in facing bug with allow register new member even I turned off WordPres register member on setting.

Manoj Sharma

Not working for Multisite yet, wp-signup-php + emails not working..

D@vid

Shahjahan Jewel
I sent you a private message regarding FluentAuth.

Jeff Brigman

Shahjahan Jewel Several other social OAuth’s are needed such as LinkedIn, Reddit, X, and more.

https://www.reddit.com/dev/api/oauth/

I would love to see “FluentAuth Pro” with support for passkeys, real MFA (email based codes aren’t strong enough since they are sent to the same email address as password reset emails), and commercial support/maintenance like your other Pro plugins.

Erin Wright

+1

Peter Heck

Karl Emil Nikka +1 for Passkey!

Amazing. Installing now...

Mat ‎

Please fix the horizontal scroll for the login form - it appears in Edge/FF browser and doesnt look good.

BTW:

I wish we could have build-in login field validation against whitelist/blacklist of comma separated: domains, emails, regex so only allowed emails/domains would be accepted.

It would also nice to have a toggle to disable login by userNames and allow emails only (without a need of using any custom snippets).

Case scenario: userNames are available on fCommunity so anybody can use them for the login field.

This plugin is amazing , i replaced it, and using in conjunction with other to control the 2 way verification, thanks for a this plugin, better then the v1.5

J V

Shahjahan Jewel How do I manually unblock a user?

J V u have to delete the red log in which the user appears to be banned

J V

Tindaro Battaglia That didn't work. It is only a log as I expected.

J V

Tindaro Battaglia I think that is just a user that had a coincidence happen ;)

J V did u eventually find it out?

Fluent Auth is a fantastic plugin.

Thank you for creating this ♥️

I think that the only thing I miss here is, stop “concurrent login” : that would be cherry on top.

But, that aside, this is a top security solution to complement with a WAF :)

Rafael Piton

Shahjahan Jewel
The interface still needs to be improved, it is similar to the default fluentCommunity login page, but it is not the same, many CSS adjustments are needed to make it exactly the same.

Richard Roy

We should talk sometime. I have a Product idea and I think fluent security would fit right in. I will test this out and share a video review.

is there any way to remove the lock to an user?

J V

Tindaro Battaglia I haven't found a way in the app. I have a lock through a different app that I was using already anyway, where I can just unlock the IP.

J V Shahjahan Jewel is it possibile to implement the unlock feature ?

Hoang Hxn

Shahjahan Jewel I installed FluentAuth and everything is set up but the "Login with Google" button is not showing on the Community login page, it only shows on the default WordPress login page. Is there any way to fix this?

William Beem

One of the things I'm looking for is a way to get external copies of the FluentAuth log files. It would be nice to have webhooks or integrations with other services (e.g. Google Sheets) to update another source when a log entry gets made. A few people on my community also expressed interest in finding a way to export the log files.

My use case came from a credit card payment dispute where the person claimed the charge was made without his knowledge. Showing the FluentAuth log data was part of my evidence to challenge the dispute, so I created a post on my community advising people to save their log files and other related data.

I wish we had a log for password resets, too. The only evidence I had for that was the email notification I received from WordPress when the user changed his password.

Any thoughts about this, Shahjahan Jewel?

William Beem Noted.
