Ideas on topic interface #featurerequest

I already love the current interface. But in larger discussions the 'no pages' interface makes it pretty hard to keep track of a topic and you could end up scrolling for a long time.

I really like the way NodeBB solves this with a little scroll bar that shows dates, amount of posts, how many new post there have been made since your last visit and where you need to start to view them. Plus a comment numbering system aswell.

Aswell as sorting on newest, most votes, oldest within a topic.

One last good addition might be to allow (toggle on/of in admin?) some kind of quoting. I would say this is pretty important on larger and longer topics that go on for weeks or months on end for example.
