How to block direct messages?
I would like to prevent community members from interacting with each other via chat or direct messaging. I assumed I needed to go to Features & Add-ons and then FluentCommunity Chat. That is what I did, and I selected that only administrators and moderators can start a 1-to-1 conversation (see attached image). However, it does not seem to work, and anyone can still send messages to anyone. Is there anything else I need to configure or clear? Thanks
I am using bettermessage to tackle this, I created an add-on for bettermessage which I use for this with some rules members needs to perform before they can message each other.
I would have posted screenshot but they're some persons on this community stealing my ideas with Ai, they spent hugely on Ai just to steal🤦♂️ they can't think outside the box for ideas.
Maybe wpmanageninja would see your request and think of adding it.
But if you want that urgently, you'll have to use bettermessage and I'll share the add-on to you, the add-on is strictly for bettermessage.
Lots of people here uses bettermessage
WiLson Eberechi Hello thanks for answer. It's a quite a paradox to have to buy and install another messaging add-on (better message) to have to disable the original one! It's really the only solution?
Prosper bettermessage is free. You only pay when you want to make audio or video call(websocket).
If you want to use your direct messages urgently and what the best out of your direct messages, use bettermessage or probably wait for wpmanageninja to update their fluent messaging which we don't know yet or when they will do it or what they add
Have you checked the settings within a space to disable this?

Prosper it should work but existing messages if someone initiated already those will stay by the ay. Will take a look again.
