Hide space group if user is not a member of ANY space within that group.
Dear Fluent Community experts, members and plugin developers
I am talking to you regarding a problem I faced in the fluent community. I think you might have also faced the same problem.
Have anyone of you figured out how to "Hide space group if user is not a member of ANY space within that group", without having the spaces as secret spaces?
You know that we can create many space grops and have spaces within those groups. But all of these space groups are not relevant to the users. Displaying all space groups in the user dashboard will look very confusing, unattractive and distracting to the learners/users.
Does anyone have any idea or solution.

You don’t need to mark the spaces as Secret to achieve this.
FluentCommunity already has a built-in setting that hides a space group when a user isn’t a member of any space inside that group.
How to set it up

Go to FluentCommunity → Portal / Space Groups in your WordPress dashboard.

Edit the group you want to control

Uncheck the option “Show spaces even if the user is not a member of any space.”

Save the changes and clear cache if needed.
After that, users will only see the space groups where they belong to at least one space.
Unfortunately, this doesn't work when there are many space groups and you are a member of even one space in just one space group. Once you are a member of any space of a group, then all space groups are visible to you even if you are not the member of any spaces of all these groups....or even if those space groups are not relevant to you.
So, I am sorry to say that your instruction will not be working here. But thank you very much for your readiness in sharing what you think would work.
arjun arjun Did you try to make each space group as Secret?
Then you invite users or give them access via FluentCRM tags when they are allowed to see that group.
This should achieve exactly the behavior you’re looking for?
Gee Adriaansz The post that I have created is asking for hiding all the space groups that have spaces of which the user is not member of...and only showing that particular space group that has spaces which the user is member of. Let's not try to give suggestions in a way that is not directly related to the question. I appreciate your generosity in trying to proactively offer the solution, despite not being able to grasp the essence of the question.

To Summarize the post:
Among many Space groups that are created, I want each Space Group to be visible only when the user is a member of any space inside that same Space Group.
If the user is a member of a space in Group A, they must not automatically see Group B or Group C unless they have membership in those groups too.
Is this possible in Fluent Community?
As mentioned in the post, I am looking for ways to hide the space groups without having the spaces as secret spaces. I want the spaces to be displayed in the list of spaces. I simply want to hide them in the sidebar.
Hello arjun arjun, this has been implemented before the release of v1.8.3, so in the latest release, it works.
- Settings > Space Group > Edit a Group
- Unmark the input of Appearance
By that, a general member who is not a member of any space within that Group, the group will be hidden.
Note: This works for general users; if a user is an admin/mod, they can see space groups despite not being a member of any spaces within that group.

Tawsif Ahmed Riyad that looks good but for me..
I have Space Group "Car Clubs" under which I have like 40 spaces - 40 clubs of car brands. I see no reason to show up whole group of 40 spaces in sidebar when user joined only 1 club. Can this setting be also for individual spaces inside of any group? Or atleast make feature like Show 5 spaces from group and then show "Show more" button to show rest? To me makes sense make option to show only space which user joined in sidebar, not whole group. On screen below you can see it.
